J Dilla sampled interpolated Beatles song (Yesterday)
This beat was very challenging. There are a bunch of small vocals notes that took forever. But it is also not perfect, there is a section missing. But it is Dilla and the Beatles I didn't expect it to be easy...

A lot of Dilla stuff in the work in preparation for Dilla month in February! Breakdown Notes: - Dilla had pitch perfect harmony, and it is nice to see a display of that. Matching samples that have been both pitched down and pitched up is tricky if you don't know theory, or you can just have a godlike ear. - There is a lot of stereo manipulation going on in this track, too much too be explained here. But... Stereo Shaper is fire - Thanks for recommending me to use Stereo Shaper, it is insane how I can manipulate samples with it. I hasn't unlock any breakdowns yet, but I know it will! - The string syncopated sound was tough for me. Maybe it is something in the beginning, but after waaaay too long I decided to give up - Obsessing over small details is gratifying, but not always worth my time 😅😅 The documentary is close to being done. Doesn't mean it will come out soon tho, lots of polishing going into it ! Check the Patreon for weekly updates (no $ needed) :)

@@HushBanga The snars are eq'd with an envelope of the same track... often used the drums from the joints he chopped... Trust a Brovna 3rd removed from the school of Dilla. Studied under Joc MAX. Old heads hated drum packs and would manip teh ship on the drums they liked.
One of my favorite dilla joints. The vocal sample is so clutch
YESTERDAY 🗣️🗣️🔥🔥🔥, one of my favorite songs
He also sampled a John Lennon interview on one of the tracks from the shining

Thats J Rocc sampling, he scratches all the vocals on E=MC2
Genius in the simplicity 👌🏻 That ‘beat repeat’ technique is one I needed to try and use more. Very good way to prolong an original idea that isn’t quite a full loop in itself 👏🏼 The subtlety in it being slightly different parts along that waveform to stop it sounding repetitive adds so much too Nicely done man, killing it! Looking forward to Feb 🙌🏼
