Dont worry if you a fan of his. He doing everything on purpose and it was probably planned to be like this years ago. Check out the sample Cole used on hunting wabbits. The plot of the cartoon is literally word for word what is happening right now between cole, kendrick and the public. @@AliFrankTheTank j cole is one of the most honest rappers in the game right now. it's even more believable that after a history of transparency in his music, good example would be a song like "let go my hand", that when he messes up and realizes he was going in a path that he didn't like, instead of committing to it because of pressure from the media he instead apologizes and lets everyone know his true intentions and how he feels about the situation, even knowing that he's going to get a lot of backlash. he's not a cap rapper because he immediately went back on what he said in favor of being honest over anything else that was obviously imminent after his apology. not expecting u to understand that tho

I listened to the album 7 times in 3 days. Loved it. After the apology I didn't bother to listen to it again. Still a good album but cant get over the 'tough big boy' bars

By him saying " as a Kendrick fan." On a video about people glazzing up a album made based on reaction to Kendrick makes op think his take on the situation is different cus most fan boys are at each others throats. In reality everyone likes Jermaine's and Dots music so him explaining that hes a Kendrick fan is irrelevant.

I’ve seen some mixed opinions but I really enjoyed it. It has some dud bars and some misses on the track list (hyb, 7 minute drill), but Cole was in great form here imo. Beats and features delivered as well. One of my favorites of the year, gonna be played all summer

People are disregarding the quality of this tape because of the apology. Kendrick and Cole are dear friends, therefore it makes sense why he wouldn't want to diss him. It doesn't mean that Cole doesn't have the ability to smoke another rapper when necessary, like he did to Lil Pump on 1985 or Kanye on False Prophets. Cole IS rapping like the best rapper in the world on this project, and those braggadocios bars shouldn't be discredited due to the apology imo. His claim to be the best is still valid due to his performances on the project.

This album came out on my birthday. I woke up, got dressed, saw the surprise album and called out of work. It’s been 3 months since that day. I have listened to this album every day since then. It’s the best present ever and honestly my favorite album of all time.

I just can’t listen to it the same since the apology. He better come with completely different energy with the fall off.

Comparing Kendrick to the Simpsons was pretty accurate... Kendrick predicted the future, just like the Simpsons.

The thumbnail is J. Cole fans all week 😂

I liked the album until the infamous apology, after that the album feels like a completely deflated bouncy house.

I’ve listened to this album a lot and I really mess with it. Honestly this track list feels really fun especially on songs like Fever and H.Y.B. And I think he performed very well on them. My only problem with this album is that the apology makes so much of the album feel like a lie.

3001 is one of my favorite J. Cole songs ever. Such a classic flow.

For me as a cole fan I dont have much of a problem with him apologizing because I mean you couldve seen that coming cole is just to chill and humble to really battle someone he likes and for that reason I can also still believe those im the GOAT lyrics because I think he could still smoke like 99% of active rappers rn (and he couldve dealt with K dot maybe he wouldnt have won but he could fight for sure)

my thoughts on it is it was a great effort. hes got some really good songs in there but it doesn’t stack up with KOD or off szn quality wise but cole said it perfectly in one of the songs drop everything the good and the bad don’t sit around and wait for the perfect time to drop music bc it will never come

Ik that that was in Lu's top 3 for the year so far and it was one that I enjoyed quite a bit, although at the same time it isnt as mainstream as stuff you guys normally do reviews for but I think it would be cool if you guys reviewed it.

Not a single miss on this album except for maybe Fever. And even that is just a chill summertime vibe song

3001 is so underrated it goes harder than almost any song from Cole but people will appreciate it more later

If Cole didn't drop 7 minute drill, and fever they would've given it a great or amazing.

The album is not going to age badly. I dont know if anyone caught that but on the sample on hunting wabbits is a cartoon called wabbit season or something like that. The lore in the cartoon is literally what is happening right now between J Cole, Kendrick and the public. Im a 100% sure that this whole thing that he is doing is preplanned as a album rollout for the falloff (there is like 10 hints that this is the case on the album). I dont know why Cole did that but we will surely get an explaination later.

Stealth Mode might just be my favourite Cole song in a minute but let’s not cap, the album doesn’t hit the same since the apology. Still rock with it but so much of the drive in it has been cut short

9 out of 12 made my playlist, honestly still like 7 minute drill I can vibe to the first part but the second half imo is phenomenal with the conductor beat. With what's happened I personally don't consider it part of the album as it was purely a product of lack of judgment on Coles part, and I'm happy that he admitted that. As much as I vibe with the song tho I do think it should be removed now as the meaning is pointless.

This album was fantastic fuck 7 minute drill. He apologized and bitched up ok but that doesn’t take away from how good the album is.

Stop the cap. If Cole didn’t ‘apologize,’ you guys would be semi-glazing. Rate it for what it is. Pricey, Po, Stickz ‘n’ Stonez, 3001, and Trae Tha Truth in Ibiza?

It's the kind of energy I want from Cole but it's so inconsistent as well. Definitely not a bad record but nothing too crazy as well. He should delete 7 minute drill from it, I'm not the biggest fan of such decisions but it might be right this time. I hope on the fall off there won't be any fevers kind of songs more in the direction of 95 south energy again. Mid project I like many songs but definitely weak tracks on this one as well. More structure, hard hitting lyrics rhymes and stuff, a clear idea, fitting feats and I'm hyped for the fall off but might delete later was hopefully a record he can learn from
