J. Cole - Let Nas Down (Extended Remix) ft. Nas

Музыка

Let Nas Down Remix and Original, Combined Smoothly.
The transition is at 3:36 but it can't be heard because both tracks have the same line on the hook. "Long Live The Idols" is the start of the remix.
Sounds Like It Was Recorded As One Song. Best Way To Listen To Both Tracks And Hear The Full Story.

You know J Cole must have been mad at Nas when he heard. I'm glad he was mature enough to go a different way and put it all on a record which makes Cole in a vulnerable position and then to have Nas come back and embrace him. I feel like this whole record is a triumph of love over hate. Cole could've dissed Nas and Nas could've clowned on Cole. Instead they came together and made something really beautiful and hope they got a generational relationship.

Bruhhh me too!!!! J.Cole is a bonafide lyrical GENIUS, with an incredible verse, and yet Nas somehow managed to TOP Cole on his own song. Crazy. Nas is the GOAT. I could write a whole essay on his verse. Starting with the leitmotif of the earth spinning as a metaphor for fast forwarding the narrative (but it's also a double entendre for vertigo, as in "the earth is spinning" 😵😵). I could go on and on. Nas is just next level. The closest thing hip hop has to Shakespeare. Part psychologist, part poet, all genius.

I disagree with that narrative. He wouldn't have HAD TO bring THIS Nas if Cole didn't hit his soul with the original track. And Coles original track is still crazy good, one of the best "emotional" rap songs since the 2Pac era. He had some crazy lines in this song, but he had a whole song to write. Nas took a finished song, and put one bomb ass verse to it. They aren't the same work. Not saying Nas hasn't done that work 100x, just talking about THIS work.

This was one of the most important events in hip hop history, up there on the level of west coast east coast beef... it is at least more important than the troy ave shooting, yet it's not front page news and it hasn't reached hundreds of millions of views. Brothers showing love to one another across generational lines, mentoring one another and securing one another is not talked about enough. But if we kill one another, bully one another, or sully one another it's lights, cameras, action. F@#k the world, don't ask me for sh!t.

AClarionCallMinistry you're so right brother it's actually crazy! We love and no one acknowledges it, we hate and we're publicised for doing so.. but u know WHY that is right? They don't want us to know what we're capable of. There's so much growth in love but they keep us locked in this self perpetuating cycle of hate. You ever hear the illustration about crabs in a barrel and the reply stating that a barrel is not a crabs natural habitat? This is the barrel! The hate we have for each other, the fact that killing each other is so cool but helping and raising each other up is not. We need MOOORE tunes like this. And we need more people like you and I to support them. #raisedfist

j cole is so underrated. In my opinion he is the best lyricist of this age in hip hop. he does not get the credit he deserves and just the fact that NAS is featured in this song is amazing. Nas is one of the greatest rappers/lyricist of all time.

@andrew Martinez I actually completely agree but it's about time a mainstream artist actually speaks from the heart and tries to stay lyrical. But you are right underground will always be more lyrically complex then mainstream. They just have more heart and love for the art of hip hop

I agree it's nice to see not just Cole but Krit, Kendrick, logic and Joey starting to show that real hip hop is still relevant and there creativity is not limited To how much there labels Want them to be creative Cuz in the end that's what started and is still keeping Hip-hop alive today Creativity.

Man soor I didnt get he lsot respect in his idol, he was disappointed in himself, he says it in the song. Because he knew Nas was correct in not liking the song. He knew he gave into mainstream for a quick second makin that song(me personaly liked it, as something to hear on the radio, but it is nothing compared to his REAL tunes), This was basically an apology to Nas, telling him he will stay on track. The whole album, is about fighting the temptations, and evils once he got paid. This song goes more perfect with the album then people seem to get, not just something he threw in because he felt he needed to get the song to the public.
