Cats in real life will do that if you hold them too close to your face (Just ask the MCU's Nick Fury when he held Goose too close to his face, getting scratched in the eye😅!)

That look Laios gave his hand after the, at that moment very cat-like, Izutsumi slapped it away is so funny. Kinda sad it cut before you could see him stand alone in the corner and contemplate.

I think the mangaka did draw the main cast as different races that they could have changed into with the mushroom and one of them was Izutsumi as a human! So there is at leash official material of what she could have looked like there
