Iza Tarasewicz, "The Union That Has Evolved Into the Wing"

In the new episode of the artim film series, Iza Tarasewicz discusses the sculpture The Union That Has Evolved Into the Wing, which has been installed on the ground floor in the lobby of the office building at Koszykowa 65. The artist explains the origin of the work and elucidates the symbolism hidden within it, which refers to the agrarian history of her own family. Iza Tarasewicz also discusses the technical aspects of creating the sculpture, and the shots from the assembly reveal the process of installing the large-scale sculpture in a public space.
Iza Tarasewicz (born 1981 in Białystok) graduated from the Faculty of Sculpture and Performing Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznań in 2008, and her works have gained significant recognition both in Poland and abroad. Her sculptural installations take the form of modular, flexible, mobile, and reconfigurable display systems that combine a raw and modest functionalism with formal logics found in the natural world, agriculture, folk practices, and scientific experimentation, generating systems of material and energetic flows.
