I made this for my family... It was epic... Thanks so much...That was two years ago.... Right now, i want to make it again, so i decided to was again....
Hello, I made this or tried to make it and I followed every step. Some of the issues I ran into: 1/2 cup of palm oil is not enough. About 1 1/2 cup is need or more for it to fill the pot when frying the onions and adding mix. The tomato and pepper mix was watery (since you required 5 tomato's and only 2 peppers) and not deep red like your video and would require time to boil down. There was no mention of the seasonings that went into beef stock. I added thyme and curry. I still went ahead with stew and after adding mixture to bleached palm oil, I let it cook for a bit but when I tasted it, it had zero flavor...not even a hint of the maggie cube I put. I am having to improvise other ways to bring flavor etc. I want to try this again as it looked really delicious. Pls update with specifics! Thank you!
You seem like such a sweet soul !this is arguably my favorite food and in Kenya we call it Matumbo shame that here in Germany they come white washed and tasteless 🙄🙄.Will definitely try this recipe soon when am home .thanks Sisi Yemmie .
I just made this following the recipe to the later. Trust me it's yummy. Thank you Ma
I made this for my omo's father and he said "if I didn't know who made this,I would believe it's a Nigerian" lool I'm guyanese
Can't thank you enough just purchased dawa dawa cakes..🤓 I'm so excited
I started making stew this way after watching this video and my brother in law who's not even Nigerian is so crazy about it. He goes little lady, could make me that sauce please? 😁 I have epp my sister to jazz him😁 Thank you so much for this video.
i am around alot of Nigerians who love your cooking, i love cooking jollo of rice.
I tried this a few months ago. Bleaching the palm oil is not for the faint hearted. My apartment smoked and I coughed for days after. But it makes a BIG difference in the taste. I don't have any of the other orisirisi meats but amala is a must for me today. So I am making a small batch with just turkey and shaki
I am so going to try this!!! I loveee all your recipes Sisi Yemmie thank you

Looks yum....
What seasonings did you put in your beef stock? There is no mention of it here or your website..although it looks like there are seasonings in it. Thanks
I do this stew with smoked chicken ( the hard one, I think it's called hen..), apart from the other meat parts you used, and my husband and son love it. I didn't grow in Nigeria so I don't know but my husband says it tastes almost like the original buka stew. I discovered it on IG and it's almost like yours except for the locusts beans, hard to get here in Spain. Well done!!
