Hello, I made this or tried to make it and I followed every step. Some of the issues I ran into: 1/2 cup of palm oil is not enough. About 1 1/2 cup is need or more for it to fill the pot when frying the onions and adding mix. The tomato and pepper mix was watery (since you required 5 tomato's and only 2 peppers) and not deep red like your video and would require time to boil down. There was no mention of the seasonings that went into beef stock. I added thyme and curry. I still went ahead with stew and after adding mixture to bleached palm oil, I let it cook for a bit but when I tasted it, it had zero flavor...not even a hint of the maggie cube I put. I am having to improvise other ways to bring flavor etc. I want to try this again as it looked really delicious. Pls update with specifics! Thank you!

I tried this a few months ago. Bleaching the palm oil is not for the faint hearted. My apartment smoked and I coughed for days after. But it makes a BIG difference in the taste. I don't have any of the other orisirisi meats but amala is a must for me today. So I am making a small batch with just turkey and shaki

I do this stew with smoked chicken ( the hard one, I think it's called hen..), apart from the other meat parts you used, and my husband and son love it. I didn't grow in Nigeria so I don't know but my husband says it tastes almost like the original buka stew. I discovered it on IG and it's almost like yours except for the locusts beans, hard to get here in Spain. Well done!!
