Not gonna lie, this defense kinda undermines the value of that championship, considering NJPW does its best to identify challengers/contenders via month long feuds, stipulations and tournaments. It's like the championship means sacred in Japan and looks like a TV title in the US. AEW casually handing one out on random weekday taping. Makes me wonder if NJPW was forced or on-board with the decision.

I watched the spot where Hobbs hurt his knee over and over and I can't figure out what the hell he did to cause an injury. And that's the funny thing about pro wrestling, you see these guys doing dives from the rafters and getting up fine, but it's always the little nothing moves that end up hurting you the worst. Hope Hobbs isn't seriously hurt and is back soon.

Takeshita will undoubtedly have a good run with a major Japanese title at some point, but now seems a bit early. Also, I like seeing him on American TV. The setup in Jacksonville looks great too.
