Spot on mate; I used an AZ3 HTE2 as a first upgrade from cheap no name stuff. While AZ3 was ok for small stuff the fan was a bit substandard as I found out when changing to the FLG for base and now use GTI pro lite (110 air cap) for clear. I only do some hobby stuff at home and usually outside; I must love to denib and colour sand! 😉 Can't recommend Devillbiss guns enough

Man, you worked hard on that clear coat, you are weapon. Well done man. The FLG5 is still a ripper of a gun, as long as you keep up the cleaning and maintenance.

I had a 2.0 impact, it laid primer with a force, nice and wide I shape.

Interesting review Gunny, I've heard a few people rave about how good this gun is but it's obvious from you spraying thinners trough it the FLG5 has a wetter fuller fan, I won't be entering this giveaway mate as I have my devilbiss guns so someone else might need them more than me, not that I ever win anything anyway, was totally gutted that I didn't win your turquoise GTI Pro 😢😉😁 John UK.

The starting line is a good gun, I still use one for my base oats and have a GTI Pro Lite for clear coat with a te20 cap. I like using them both together because set up is very similar and not a big learning curve with the new gun.

This just saved me some money and frustration, I actually just ordered a AZ3 from sprayguns direct, thought I'd quickly see a review (after I Voight it I know🙈). I quickly cancelled order and got the FLG5 1.4 instead.

@The Gunman I bought the Airgunsa 1.8 for primer and the Bellaria 1.3 on your previous recommendation a few months ago. Haven't laid a drop of paint yet though (still daily driving the car).

Funny you mentioned the spray pattern. Mine sprays top heavy almost 15 degree slanted and off to one side. . switched over to my Walcom slim Kombat and realized I am never going to use the Air Gunza HTE- 3 S again. I purchased an Flg-5

I got this gun in a 1.8mm as a primer gun ..does the job but I wouldn't paint base or laquer with it.. but gunny still smashed it out , made it look easy ..flg way better tho 👍

I bought the blue flash hte a month ago and it also has the same issue as this one. Wish I bought the flg now.

I myself have the AZ3 HTE2 1.8 Primer gun. It's a pretty good gun, but I always have weird problems with mine. If I don't thin my primer way down it will stop up everytime somewhere. And it does this crazy thing where it sputters from time to time for no reason I can find. My Astro Guns and my Iwata Bellaria and WS400 all work fine no problems though. It's basically almost brand new still, my AZ3, it's just always given me problems. I have an Astro Euro Pro 1.9 I use alot for primer now, that works great though.

I too, have a Devilbiss FLG and love it!! A pinch slow but that works just fine for me.

Is the az4 better than the az3? I use the az4 as a clear coat gun for carbon fiber parts. Works okay

I had this gun in a 1.3 tip didn’t like it so I bought a needle and fluid tip in a 1.8 , forgot I needed an air cap to , which made it as expensive as buying a new gun so I just drilled out the 1.3 air cap, meh works fine

According to the Devilbiss FLG5 information here in Europe, it is not suitable for water based paints. These are the only paints we are still allowed to use due to environmental laws. For us this means that there is no paint spray gun from Devilbiss for the same price as the Airgunsa AZ3. The FLG5 is not an option, at least not over here.

SGD says it can, the cap is brass, stainless needle and nozzle. Nice gun I’m all solvent though, wind it in it does small parts also, versatile 👍🏻
