The Shrewsbury District & North Wales Branch of the Inland Waterways Association chose Norbury Junction on the Shropshire Union Canal for its Winter Walk on 21 January 2024.
After morning coffee in the Wharf Café, walk leader Barry Witts took lanes and bridleways alongside the canal before crossing beneath the embankment and returning via the towpath of the frozen navigation.
Volunteer restorer Sue Blake told walkers about restoration of the two historic narrowboats moored at the wharf by Shrewsbury & Newport Canals Trust.
