I knew you will be affected by this performance. This is truely magical and the stage really made these 2 songs unreal. I never feel this kind of emotion on a concert. Imagine being there live i would have been incredible. The different singer are actually unknown singer at that time and IU invited them to this moment to give them the opportunity to be more recognized for their individual talents. This is IU, she humble and loves helping others (by the way love wins all right ? 😂) The song dear name is really special as it is dedicated to everyone, who you are, where you are, this song is actually dedicated to anyone.

She is 100% natural no plastic surgery. Enjoying your IU journey what a good way to start before her new album drops.

I’m so excited to hear her new music, especially since Love Wins All has literally consumed me by her talent 😍 I didn’t know how I recognised her at first but she did a video where she surprised a little Korean actress and the girl had to pretend she didn’t know who IU was 😍 Now watching it, I can understand why the girl was crying so much 😂😂

Yeah. There have always been conflicting reports about whether she had plastic surgery or not. However, photos of her as a child look tremendously similar to how she looks today, so if she had anything done it was very, very minor compared to most idols. Doesn't really matter in the big scheme of things, as she's beautiful inside and out, but it does make the genetic lottery she won all the more insane.

“Dear name “ is about a protagonist who is longing for someone, but that person is no longer around. Even in dreams, the protagonist can't hear their voice or answer. Despite feeling cold, the protagonist won't let go of the memory of that person and will search for them endlessly, even if they are far away and hard to find

I'm not sure that's accurate. The MMA performance was dated the 2nd of December 2017 and Jonghyun passed away on the 18th of December 2017. I believe the real reason behind dear name for this particular performance was to give those who didn't make it in the industry a spotlight.

The OP comment wants to interpret it the way they want to about Jonghyun, which is valid, the lyrics of the song is about loss in a way. You have your interpretation of the song is of the stage you're seeing, which is again, completely valid as the people are small/unknown musicians of which she is sharing the stage with. It's really how you want to interpret her lyrics. You can imagine yourself in her place even and the lyrics of the song might even describe a situation in your life as well. I think she mentioned previously that Dear Name, that anyone is the main character of this song (just replace Name with an actual name and it's as if the song itself is dedicated to them). I know I can relate to this song quite well with loss of friends with only memories that remain.

I have to correct this opinion. Dear Name actually made for commemorate Sewol's victims. This song lyrics is written by Kim Eana and IU. Stage that tribute to Jonghyun is in SBS Gayo Daejun 2017, she sang it with Yoo Hee Yeol.

Speaking of her singing you to sleep, she did record one or two ASMR videos that are available on KZread. ;) Also, you are really meant to cry anytime she sings Dear Name, so don't feel bad about it. Dear Name, along with Love Poem and Lullaby, are some of the most beautiful and heart-wrenching songs in all K-Pop. Hell, it feels disrespectful to call them K-Pop. They belong to the family of songs that would include Love Wins All, for reference.

Globally theres many powerful singer just that those who stand out normally have strong attraction and able to make themselves relevent & timeless ...the making of a legend. ..IU she have that package..mastering in PR, singing songwriting producing acting and virtually attractive

Her career spans 16 years. It was the top during that time. In K-POP, where competition is fierce... Her nickname is National Female Singer. It is not something that can be applied to any singer. She is a role model for all female singers. Direction point! Even among active idols, her fans. Everyone is thrilled to see IU in person.

There are many more songs by her, which are incredible. @@MVDRAMABLACKWITTE That's so amazing to hear! It sounds a little tacky, but Blackpink helped me overcome my depression also. I had a whole phase where I learned everything about the group (to the point it was a bit obsessive) and to be honest, their personalities helped me to want to experience life, as strange as that sounds. Obviously, as you'll know, depression never truly goes away and some days are harder than others, but thankfully we have our lovely musicians like IU to make each day a little easier

Dear Name is a song chosen by the Korean government as a symbol to commemorate the Itaewon tragedy. This is a great song, especially when it is performed by the national treasure of the Republic of Korea IU.
