This MV is the product of IU. She wrote the song and produced the MV, meaning that the concept, vision and story line are hers. V lends his acting talent and charm to the acting. But the cost, production quality etc credit all goes to IU and her company EDAM. I am pointing this out because I thought I heard you say somethingvabout BTS and how they always put out great MV's or words that effect. While that maybe true this particular MV is all about the type of quality MV IU and her company produce. And no one tells a story through words and images than IU.

I appreciate your love of IU, but you're going way overboard. Being a 'producer' means different things depending on the situation. In this case, she hired one of Korea's top sci-fi film directors (look him up - he's a big deal) to storyboard and direct the video. Since there is no dialogue, this means the director is most responsible for 'writing' the video's story. IU is definitely responsible for the writing, composing, and production of the song though.

@@hd7704 yes she did hire a top notch director, so what's your point? A director's job is to bring the vision of the producer(s) to life. A Director may depending on the Producer, may add his thoughts and to thecstory line, but he/she isn't going to change to the core concept and story line. In fact a director before taking on a job will have talked to the producer about the central concept and vision etc before accepting the job. SovI am not sure what your point is or what the fact that IU was able to hire a top level director has anything to do with my point. Which was that BTS nor V (both of whom I love) had anything to do with the concept, vision, production, staging coloring, pre or post production etc. While IU, being the producer (which also means she invested her own money into the project which she even mentions in an offhand way in the Behind the scenes video) was reviewing the days filming almost constantly when she was actually filming a scene. And finally certainly you aren't suggesting that IU should have settled for someone else as director? Which doesn't even begin to address the fact that the director took the job mainly because it was IU asking him. If I am misunderstanding your point please help me understand what you mean. I posted this because it seemed to me that so many BTS fans, especially those who were unfamiliar with were acting like this MV was a BTS production which only featured IU, even suggesting that the pile of clothes was a reference to BTS's MV Spring Day, which it was not, not even close, it core reference was to the holocaust and the extermination of people.

@@hd7704 after reading the rest of your post I realized you don't have a clear understanding of this relationship. Creating a story board doesn't mean a thing in terms of whose concept and vision is being shown. The reason why IU choose him was because of her vision of the storyline. A story board is nothing more than drawings show how he plans to bring her concept and vision to life. All pending the approval of the producer. The staging, getting the actions and acting from the talent, the lighting etc all require skill and talent. Someone else would have done things differently in bring the same concept and vision to life. But without a Producer there is no director, unless a director his willing to finance his own project and then the concept and vision are his to bring to life. I am not sure why you are trying to minimize IU's role and creative genius. By the way she did not produce the song.
