“Blooming” and “Flying” may sound like typical metaphor for success~ but the reason why a dandelion seed was used as a main metaphor here was that IU wanted to encourage those who do not have a definite wanted path.. like saying, you can still “bloom” and “fly high” even if you do not know where the wind/life can take you

홀씨 (Holssi) TITLE In ‘CHAT-SHIRE’, the first album I took part in producing in my 20s, I used a bunch of flowers as a metaphor for my age (23), whether they are fancy flowers or small flowers. Back then, I believed that I would be in full bloom when the time comes. In my 30s, I realized that there’s no reason and no need for everything in the world to become flowers, so I’ve decided to live as a holssi (dandelion seed) fluttering insignificantly in the sky. Like a shopper who doesn’t get tired of (shopping), I want to look around and roam about without a destination in mind, putting in my shopping cart various options that are on display from everywhere in my world.

So good!! Edit: This is my interpretation of the video and song but i could be wrong. Ive been a huge fan of IU since 2011! I love her music. I think she stays true to herself no matter the genre. Just because she filmed this in LA doesn't mean she wants to go global and she's having a world tour because her fans have begged her for years to have a concert overseas. It's always worth watching until the end in an IU MV.

Love that positive message with IU that letting go of the cord at the end, allowing her have the full freedom to fly. A new beginning. This makes a huge contrast to her Ending Scene MV, where she is hesitant to cut the cord and that was never revealed.

우울증 상담을 거의 10년째 받고 있는데 우울증 환자들 중 꽤나 높은 비율로 자신을 민들레 홀씨에 비유한답니다. 언제 사라져도 이상하지 않고 또 어디에 뿌리 내려도 미련이 없기 때문인 것 같아요. 물론 이 뜻이 아닐 수도 있지만 간만에 굉장히 후련한 음악을 듣는 기분이에요 감사합니다 😢 요즘 많이 힘들어서 홀연히 사라지고 싶다는 생각을 많이 했는데 음악이 참 좋아요 💜

가사를 어쩜 이렇게 쓸 수 있을까..노래부르는 것도 홀씨가 부유하듯 소리가 가볍게 흩날리는 느낌.. 아이유 좋아하긴 했지만 love wins all에서 엄청 충격이고 감동이었는데 홀씨에서는 또 다르게 충격이고 감탄하게 되네. 대단한 아티스트다.

이 노래는 확실히 들을수록 더 좋은 곡인듯. 처음 들을때의 어색함이 사라지고 나면 같이 날아가는 듯한 자유로움이 그 자리를 채움. 특유의 공간감있는 목소리를 최대로 살려서 날아다니는 홀씨의 느낌이 노래만으로도 느껴지게 완성한듯.
