This is a great and precious video! Because both of them are not young. I had the honor to watch Zukerman's performance in Hong Kong in 2013 and shake hands with him cordially! also receive an autographed CD and poster!
Their light-hearted and symbiotic friendship/collaboration, always elevates the music to amazingly energized and exceptionally brilliant heights- a tremendous gift to the world !
after a million times of watching......still unreal
I like how Perlman(38:01) says, “Not too fast” and then plays it at double speed lol

Why do you lough? Of course he meant "not at triple speed".
Both looking so young here. What an incredible event. Love Allegro Films feature since these two & 3 other greats performed the TROUT.
Wonderful duo! Maestro Itzhak Perlman my favorite violinist and Maestro Zukerman...i Love it 🎻❤️🌹
Wonnderful duet ! Thanks Beautifuf Music violin Itzhak Perlman and Pinchas Zukerman

Nelson Liew I think there are a lot of superb violinists at present, most Jewish, some Israelis, like these two, and Perlman I think is a bit older, so had wider game. But I am sure in the music circles they are both equally well known

Abinoni as well. Le Clair was a big one. I studied as my first serious chamber music with Estelle Kerner, of Settlement music School in Philadelphia. She also studied with Edgar Ortenburg.
Even for amateur listeners, this performance is not about playing notes or just violin; it is all about storytelling by heart, head and violins…. These guys breathe the understandings of the composers. They give us a touch of God’s heaven, in my opinion. Shalom Aleichem to both of you!
I'm not usually a "classical music" fan, but, I love this piece.

Id highly recommend Christopher Nupen’s films of the pianist Vladimir Ashkenazy when he was in his 20s (he did 3 about Ashkenazy and then more with Ashkenazy talking about composers and playing or conducting their works, which you might not enjoy as much, I dk), as well as one just about Zukerman, and other musicians. My very favorite is about Schubert’s “Trout” quintet with Perlman (violin), Zukerman (viola), Jacqueline du Pré (cello), Zubin Mehta (bass), and Daniel Barenboim (piano)....they are young, exuberant musicians who obviously respect and care about each other very much, and Nupen shows them as they were, having a ball and making exquisite music. All of the videos are on this same channel (Allegro Films), for free on KZread. I do hope you’ll at least try a few, I’ve enjoyed them so much, many times over!
grandes maestros
Excellent players,thank you very much❤😮😮🎉
Wonderful. Thank you.
Very beatiful amazing performance
What a wonderful & amazing pair 😍
It amazed me that Zukerman can both play violin and viola
The best violinist ‚s !
Both of them are theGreatest .
Thank you so much for uploading this! I was searching for this version of Jean-Marie Leclair - Sonata for two violins Op.3 No. 5!!

How did the stage bear so much talent?
Imagine being in music school with these guys as a fellow undergraduate violinist. How daunting.I'd cancel my enrollment lol.
Absolutely wonderful. Thank you.
Wow. I love their synergy.
I saw them play this piece as an encore at Orchestra Hall in Chicago many decades ago. At that particular concert, the programs had not been handed out, so Itzhak joked about each of them playing whatever they wanted to play, but not necessarily the same thing. Their friendly banter is genuine and quite disarming, once the fireworks start.
Obscenely talented!
*15'44" It's the marvellous and luminous **#JacquelineDuPré**, great cellist🌟* She was very smiling and really happy for her two violinist friends ! 👏👏👏

🔥keep up the good work! 💯
Muito lindo
I'm a bit of a newby to this, but their fluency is just shocking isn't it? They seem to have only think something musical and their hands and arms do it. In part 1 when they're warming up before the concert it's like they're producing whatever music they like for the fun of it, with no sense that it might be difficult. It's very reassuring there are artists like this.
😢

To everyone: (The only way I could find to write my comment.) This is an amazing performance by these two experts! Of course. Not only do they play every note perfectly and play perfectly together, but since the viola, the lower sound, often accompanies the violin’s melodic line, Zuckerman knows how to play a musically active accompaniment, when he does not have the melodic line, and not passively, like so many musicians do. Their parts go together not just rhythmically, but musically, harmonically and emotionally! I wouldn’t expect less from Mr. Itzhak and Mr. Pinchas! Bravo! 🎻🎻🎶 (sorry, no viola pic, or is this a viola and no violin pic?)

Is it just me or is there are gross inequality between the two violin parts in the wieniawski A-minor caprice (from a technical/difficulty point of view)? Looks more like caprice for violin with violin accompaniment

Christine Still you tried to act intelligent and yet made an even more embarrassing mistake. It's "they're", not "ther're". "ther're" doesn't exist. Next time you correct someone, try to be right atleast.
Just think....at the age Zukerman was here, his father and mother were probably in whatever death camps they were subjected to, trying to stay alive. It makes my head ache to try to envision both realities of their lives....can you image it??

Pinchas Zuckerman was born five years after his parents graduated from the death camps of the holocaust. I hope they get nachas from Mr. Zuckerman.

You may have a problem if you can’t stop thinking about such things. In another comment you suggested most good violinists were Jewish. You seem a bit obsessed with Jewish people.
I think Zukerman is slightly more superior technique wise. But slightly biased as he is one of my favourite violinists currently
I think this is their prime haha their notes are so clear
