Can’t believe STV were still closing down with the National Anthem in almost 1987, the year I was born.

With the rest of ITV, they went 24 hours in 1988.

RIP Steve Hamilton
An audience with billy Connolly Ended with 5 different LWT endcaps.it was first shown in 1985 on channel 4 & ended with the LWT/c4 caption.the ITV screening that date had the 1986 identin the 90s with the LWT productions & LWT on GSB captions & since 2000 it has been shown now and again on the ITV channels with the 1996 logo.
Baby & Co thought I imagined that program glad it existed.
Given the price of electricity these days, don't think we need to be told to switch off our telly boxes!

Wonder what he thought about giving the whole "turning off your television" bit considering in the last programme before shutdown, Billy Connolly had made fun of it!

I'm surprised he didn't try it the following evening, just for a giggle! I wish I'd known him, looks like an ideal party guest! He's probably up there broadcasting for Cloud 9 T.V, with all the other dearly departed souls we've lost along the way! I'm into the personalised heaven concept! Like the end of Titanic!

The IBA didn't usually put out testcards after hours at this point, except on Granada and HTV.
