I respect that she took the approach she has to learning the craft her family has honed. It's going to make her legacy formidable.

Ruf CTR2 Sport baby, that car was so trick in GT2. You could throw race slicks on compete against nearly everything and dirt tires on it for Rally and smoke everything except the Suzuki Escudo Pikes Peak car
Omg haha "Why did he keep it 2 wheel drive?" "For the fun of it 🙂"
I got a ride to Burbank airport once in the late 80's in a RUF Porsche. I can't remember the color, but it was not a yellow one. I've never been thrown back into my seat that violently before or since.
I have had the privilege of being in the passenger seat of one of these cars. It was lightly and tastefully modified, and made around 500hp and 475 ft lbs of torque at the wheels. I have never been in another street legal car that accelerates as hard as one of these...50km/hr to 250 took less than 8 seconds, and 250-300km/hr was less than 10 seconds more. My mechanic had just done a bunch of work to it for one of his customers, and asked if I had ever been in a turbo Porsche before. I told him I had never been in any at all, but had been in some pretty quick vehicles. He needed to take it for a road test, and invited me to ride with him. The car didn't have the stock CTR rims like the one in this video, it had 3 piece BBS wheels. It had a full roll cage, fiberglass and carbon seats with Schroth harnesses, and aftermarket carbon brakes. It was an unforgettable experience, and I am forever grateful I went (My mechanic would end up being murdered by a family member several years later). The only vehicle I have been in since that felt even close to the RUF, was a modified 2010 Shelby GT500 with an upgraded Kenne Bell supercharger, and a slew of weight reduction mods.
As a Gran Turismo kid, Ruf is every bit as important as Porsche. Had no idea back when I was 5 how important this particular car was though. ❤️

I'm not sure if I'd agree that Ruf is EVERY bit as important as Porsche. I mean, the former based their designs off of the latter's creations.

It was a pleasure to be a part of this film - RUF OPP let’s go!!🔥🔥
Aloisa is something else man , well spoken and super knowledgeable. She might be my new celebrity crush 😂
I got the chance to meet Mr. Ruf at the 50th Porsche Parade in Hershey, PA in the early 2000s. He brought the original Yellowbird and it was such a thrill to see the actual car. I told him I was a big fan of his company. He asked if I owned one and I said, "not yet unfortunately." He said "well, stay with us!" Very down to earth guy, and nice to see that was passed down to his daughter! Still working on owning one of his amazing cars...
I love this one Magnus. That girl has a unique style all her own. Even the old pictures of her show her in elegant clothes and sneakers. Her Mom and Dad are the two most stylish car company owners in the world and they are are all truly artists. The cars just happen to be their medium. Last but not least, the Yellow Bird is my favorite all time car so this episode really a great one. Thank you so much for making these!
I worked in a tyre shop in London in the 90s. I was told to pick up a customer car so we could change the tyres. I will never ever forget that day. A RUF 911 twin turbo. I still cannot believe a 19/20 year was handed the keys to what turned out to be a very very fast car. Raced a sports bike, we both got stopped by the police. I was very lucky not to loose my license or go to jail. Triple figures in a 30 zone. I got to the shop and said to my boss you better take that car back 😂 I still get scared thinking about it to this day 🙄
Sick car, a great story, and a beautiful owner from a legendary family. Thanks, Magnus and Aloisa.
I met Alois along with his wife at Rennsport in 2018. A very genuine, down to earth guy who was happy to talk about cars all day long like I was an old friend
It seems like she's really putting the Ruf brand back out there. I got recommended at least 3 videos with Aloisa Ruf in the past week. Great step to finding more clients, hope everything goes well.
The RUF cars are the real thing , even after all these years .
Aloisa is so graceful and mesmerizing that Magnus did not interrupt her...LOL what a fantastic family history's and tell telling story.
That’s a Petrolhead right there, I love how she focuses on stating relevant information to share and so fluid with it. So sexy with it too 🙂
Chose this in Gran Turismo so many times because it was the only Porsche in there at the time. Was a handful to control but was always a serious weapon! Love it!

Love your inclusion of the historic films and photographs, the family history in general, as presented by Ms Ruff. I’m assuming the six speed transmission with higher reduction in the lower gears and 1:1 6th, with taller differential gearing, to reduce parasitic loses, and exploit torque capacity? Thanks for sharing.

According to the internet it has a 0,86 5th gear and 0,72 6th gear with a 3,44 final drive.
Power wise, On speaking with the engineers, I was told power was much closer to 550bhp, when I question Alois, he smiled and said " we have big horses in Pfafenhausen".
If been to their shop several times. It's the Definition of understatement. No flashy shit, not even big signs, nothing - because the people that need to know...know. And: they are really friendly. And the old guy is often around always dressed perfectly 😊
I remember dreaming about these as a teenager and reading about them in Car and Driver as well as Road & Track magazines. Alois Ruf is a legend and it seems the apple didn’t fall far from the tree. Great video Magnus. One legend and the daughter of a legend continuing the legacy! Great to see!!!

In addition, the sound quality of this video was next level in quality - bravo to the tech crew who achieved this!
This car was one of the defining Porsche 911 moments for me as a kid. It punched many classes above its weight and I knew I had to have one someday.
And 35 years later, a 992 Turbo S is still not as fast (@205) . What an unbelievable achievement at the time.
@ethan8532

Let’s be real, the 992 Turbo S would dust this thing in every category. It’ll repeatedly hit 60 in under 3 seconds, and easily hit 211. With that being said the yellow bird will always be legendary.

992 will have probably 10x the downforce at that speed, which comes with a bit of drag. There is still trade off to balance stability with slipperiness.
Aloisa is so kind like her father ❣️😃 Nice family... the Ruf's ❕ I love RUF since I was a kid in the 80's, 90's 👌🏼 The new car, the "Tribute" is so beautiful too... with the green/gold colour, what had Ferry Porsche on his car 🤩 So awesome car's and family...RUF. Love from Berlin 🇩🇪 Ramsi 🙋🏻♂️
I've found over the years that Porsche/RUF guys are some of the most adamant in the car scene and after seeing this 25+ years ago I can see why.
Not only do you have great taste in cars, but in watches as well…. Nothing more iconic than a 6139…
Great video, nice to meet Aloisa too. I remember the video from the Nordschliefe, am gonna watch that again now. What a glorious machine to drive. Press on Magnus, drive fast
YELLOWBIRD is the original celebrity car and seeing one at Luft 8 was unreal. I’m loving all this Ruf content.
Aloisa; chilled, artistic, a little bohemian, speaks fluent Porsche..every Elfer's new crush 😍
I never really thought about Porsche 911 models until my late 30s and now that I’m in my early 40s I’ve developed somewhat of a fascination with them.
Such a great episode...Love the passion of Aloisa! Carrying the family torch by someone who cares is key. Dream is to order a new RUF CT(something) before I die. Bravo Magnus and thank you.
Thoroughly enjoyed this. I had the pleasure of briefly driving a Ruf in Germany. Will never forget it.
Nice car! The external oil filler is not unique to RUF cars only. Porsche did this to the 72' 911. It's a one year only feature. RUF replicated what Porsche did.

Aloisa is a great passenger to have on canyon runs like this. A woman who likes sports cars and comes from a family who builds them is a rare find. I'd love to take her for a run in my supercharged S2000 😉 I remember the CTR Yellowbird in GT3 on PS2. Back then Polyphony did not have the rights to feature Porsche in their games so RUF was the next best thing.

That Seiko Pogue pairs perfectly with the Yellowbird!
Well, she is awesome and a half!! ❤
Always loved this car! Since 1983 I've loved Porsche and Ruf! I came from Cuba a 10yr old kid and was blown away by the plethora of automobiles here in America and not just great American cars but Europeans and Japanese too plus a little Italian too! Cars galore and I never looked back!
It's not a Porsche. It's not a RUF. It's an icon !
Una auténtica obra de arte de PORSCHE!!!!!
I still remember this car in Road and Track when I was a kid, Legendary...
I usually agree with MW on just about everything, however, she absolutely nailed it with "Free bird" (Insert "what car is it you wanna hear!") When I look at this astonishing classic legend I def don't see "Mellow Yellow!" I see Free bird!
Alois and Estonia Ruf has a new extremely talented and professional Ruf to show the craftmanship and enthusiasm onwards! Sidestory: I heard about Estonia taking a journaist for a drive, he was pale white and sweaty when they returned!
Love her accent perfect amount of german in it
YELLOWBIRD🐸🤩🚀
A really special car, but explored through the history of a family is a great approach. It brings colour and dimension to the average car review, which this is miles aware from.
That's some PRECIOUS "KIT" there, Magnus!! 🙂
Now that’s a trophy wife! I could listen to her talk about Porsche all day.
Best song for driving this car. Radar Love.
That there is what you call PASSION look at her smile 🫡💯❤️❤️❤️❤️
I remember this car from the magazines along with the Hammer Mercedes, Ferraris GTO and Testerossa, and the Countach. I think I just enjoyed people driving these cars like they were meant to be back then.
The most iconic Ruf... a crazy legend 😍
What a lovely motor! This Porsche was one of my 2 favourite cars of this era, had a picture of a white convertible framed on my wall as a kid alongside an original Red Lamborghini Contach also. They were my two dream cars as a kid! To see this RUF, it looks just immense and what they've done with it and the Engine, is unbelievable! What a car! And what a family! 👍🏴🇬🇧
One of my favorite cars ever! Brings me back to Project Gotham Racing on Xbox 360. It was so cool they had this car there
not a massive Porsche fan but i am a style fan and the presenter just oozes style ,what an inspiration what a class act
Love the video! Ruf became my dream car after reading european car magazine ( The Beddor's CTR2's ). That was my first encounter with RUF! Hope to visit Pffafenhausen some day. 😊 Thanks Magnus!
Wow! Incredible car. And Aloissa... She's also incredibly lovely.
I miss my 930.... but the Yellowbird will always be my favorite Porsche!
The car can wait. I want a date! - I actually saw one of these, in yellow, at Road America IMSA a few years ago. The owner was quite calm and well composed while I foamed at the mouth for about a half-hour while asking questions about the car. I'm not a Porsche guy, but I would own one of these. I would love to antagonize Porsche owners by saying it's not a Porsche, it's a RUF all day long.
Hardly just a car. This is an automobile. Porsches are growing on me as they werent really my favorites but my recent discovery of the 917's has thoroughly peaked my interest
well now you've done it...finally
Passion about cars like nobody else. The SCR is my fave car of all time.
I just realized i've loved that car for my entire life since the record came out in Road & Track
If i have a 911 i would take it to Ruf only because they have the skill and taste unlike other companies. The wheels are the best looking especially the wider version for the turbo.
- Is it around 2500 pounds? - It's 1100 kilos - oh so 1100 * 2.2 and figure it out - yeah I just love her
I always look to his wrist to see his old trusty Porsche Design 1 Chronograph. I was happily surprised to see him wearing a minty fresh Seiko 6139 Pogue instead!
I could listen to this lady’s voice all day long, and what a car. ❤
It is very seldom to see such a young pretty lady who is so professional and passionate about her family business she has been raised in. This means also the parents did a great job ;) Usually, such pretty ladies are more decoration for fancy sportscars without knowing much about them, except that they are expensive... but she is totally the opposite and that is what makes her so respectable..!!! And I guess she can drive very well too..
Mega impressed, expected window dressing but got quality

We git to meet Ruf at BIR at a Beddor event. He and dad were like good buddies all weekend.
Ive never been to this road in Cali, shit Im no where near it. But I have driven the Yellowbird in VR on this road in Assetto Corsa! Used to drive it night and day because it was a blast to drive. A little difficult at first, but once you get the hang of it, it was very fun. Its so cool to see familiar sections of this road in this clip. Would be nice to see someone go balls to wall with the yellowbird on this road and upload a onboard cam video. Good stuff.
This was one of the best cars in Gran Turismo 2. Hours of fun. So much learning about the brand since then. Jay Leno does a nice one with the old man from RUF.
Aloisa is just a gem. First see her in JP's Video, she knows what shes talking about.
The ultimate girlfriend?! Respect for coming through in the business starting as a mechanic
I remember in the late 1980’s I was cruising with a friend in his early 1970’s Corvette Stingray, and took me to this guys house and we were hanging out in his garage. He had dark blue RUF 911. I had no idea what it was. I was 20 years old. I don’t know if it was a rare one, but it it was definitely a RUF.
Your best all time video yet, Magnus!!
Cheers and rock on ! Love it . Gorgeous car, gorgeous intelligent woman!
Great car, great people, great video.
red nails, but short, obviously a hands on, mechanically inclined lady who really develops cars. Good stuff!
As always Excellent and informative Thank you
You did a fantastic job here Magnus! Just magnificent !
So today was chilling in a Carlsbad parking lot. Car is my old bosses car, a 97 911 Turbo in immaculate condition. Living in Ferrari and etc land. Made my week talking to him for 20 mins he knew all about the 1984 RUF 930 etc that I rode in as a kid and he’s like that’s a $1,000,000 car now, the RUF factory not the aftermarket (those are $500,000 car) and was such a true car nerd… he liked how I was in a Mini Cooper I just bought for 3k when his was like $300,000 I’m wealthy
This is the GOAT. Look n o further. I would take this over those overpriced Stingers ANYDAY. The video is top notch, tearing me up over here.
once I saw a Ruf with its lack of rain gutters all the "normal" 911s suddenly didn't look right anymore. A relatively small change for a huge payoff. Been a Ruf fan for decades
Nice Seiko Pogue, sir
i just had to subscribe, bro! Great detail, history, videography and all. And its nice to see a gentleman show everyone how to interact with a lady. THat said, and me being a Rednex fan, they must be missing their lead singer. :))
God-I remember when this was in Road and Track (I think), being compared to a Callaway Corvette convertible, and all the other supercars of the day. It blew me away. Nothing was close, really. It was the star.
