ITN Special: The Battle For Amman (1970)

ITN Archive presents in its entirety this News at Ten special programme covering the events of Black September. Also known as the Jordanian Civil War, the conflict was fought between King Hussein's Jordanian Armed Forces and the guerrilla movement of the Palestinian Liberation Organisation (PLO).
This programme features astounding frontline reporting, in particular by ITN reporters Keith Hatfield and Michael Nicholson who, along with 300 other journalists, became trapped in a hotel in the centre of Amman while the fighting raged around them. Hatfield managed to get the captured footage out of Jordan and back to London after he was medevacked out of the conflict zone as a dysentery patient.

What plo arafat and the palestinian's did in Jordan was unforgivable, it was the pakistani military who saved Jordan and Jordans king Hussien who they tried to kill several times and take over his country who mistakenly given them refuge.

It was not a mistake to grant our Palestinian brothers refuge. The armed factions shown here did not represent the ordinary Palestinian refugee population, who still live in Jordan with full citizenship and full rights. Modern day Jordanians do not engage in any kind of divisive rhetoric when it comes to this issue, as we recognize that at this time we need to show solidarity with our brethren and not sow discord. History should be preserved, but we do not live in the past.

The past is a lesson one should learn from, and not forget, there is no brethren as you claim, every nation is for it's people first as it has always been, that's why you see today that there is no greater conflict from lebanon and iran. Jordan again is being made a scapegoat for the palestinian problem, as is egypt.

One of the reasons..He helped them out before and then over a period of time, the PLO tried to overtake his country ( which has a millions of Palestinians- who are just fellow Arabs)by setting up road blocks, having their own militants Police the area and then finally they decided to unseat King Hussain!.. So this is what the Israelis have had to deal with for decades!

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Come to Jesus Christ today Jesus Christ is only way to heaven Repent and follow him today seek his heart Jesus Christ can fill the emptiness he can fill the void Seek his Holy Spirit for guidance peace and purpose today Heaven and hell is real cone to the loving savior today Today is the day of salvation tomorrow might be to late come to the loving savior today John 3:16-21 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God. Mark 1.15 15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel. 2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. Hebrews 11:6 6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Jesus

It seems to me that nobody knows that ALL Jordanians are in fact Palestinians. Palestine is the land between the see and Iraqi border. What became 'Transjordan' is actually the East Bank of Palestine while the West Bank is the land currently occupied by Israel. In the West Bank, Jordan is still referred to as the East Bank.
