People are crying that Chelsea don't want to pay high wages, they'll pay high wages but on performance basis. This wage structure is right and should be encouraged. Reece James,Cole Palmer Enzo, Caicedo etc. They are all on performance based wages, so if you play well, you get paid more. How hard is it to understand. Chelsea already making loses on Reece James, Chiwell,Fofana etc who're on high wages and barely available for even half of the season. And not forgetting Malang Sarr and LUKAKU

Crystal Palace have managed to make way over £65 million on Olise. That’s very good business. His contract gave priority to clubs in the Champions League . Chelsea knew that but still went for him. They pushed his price up and Palace and Olise will be delighted.

At this point, I don’t even care anymore. This ownership has run the club like a circus and I’m tired of trying to reason, whoever signs will sign and we will finish wherever we finish. It’s hard but that’s the reality guys.

@@kyleskolsky really? Is it that complicated? They want to buy the Olise's of the world for the 10m and 50k a week that palace signed him for, not the 60m and 220 a week that bayern are paying. The latter is not sustainable for a club with Chelsea's revenue. The goal is to build revenue long term while staying financially sustainable and abiding by financial rules. That's what they're doing.

You did not state the fact palace recently proposed a new deal, so personal terms last year in the bin. Also, if he's going to come to Chelsea we would have to pay more than Palace offered. 220 to 300k for a player that never scored 20 league goals is crazy.

Stop buying a dozen new players every transfer window. Centre back (Tosin already bought) and striker are all we need this time.

I think we should be smart here.. Maresca should look to play a back 3. Our 2 best attackers nkunku & Palmer are CAMs. We have enough CB for back 3. Enzo, Caicedo, lavia, Santos are enough if we go for a pivot midfield. Mudryk/sterling(sell one) and madueke can be back up for Nkunku & palmer. we bring a proper st and chilly and cucu can fight for lwb. Rwb no explanation needed. And a good GK we need to buy. Like we can fix this team just by buying a Top st and Top GK that's all if meresca can make it a back 3 team. Gallagher+Maatsen+Broja+Hall+Sterling with the money we will get from this can easily be spent on a Top st+Top Gk

Telling him where to go because of high wage demands is the right thing to do. I'm actually glad that we have a wage cap. Why should we massively reward a player for being brilliant at his former club? That being said, gutted as I am, it isn't that big of a loss.

Agree that this would have been an upgrade signing. I'd assume that on the basis of us and Bayern offering a similar wages he'd chose Bayern given CL this season and Bayern consistently competing for top honours. Maybe we could have swayed him by giving him crazy money, but that probably wouldn't have been wise in the long term (and would have broken the wage structure). Disappointed as I think getting him would have made us favourites for top 4 for next season, but it is what it is.

And FYI Matis all of these players have clauses where their salary will be increased based on performance and if a player like Palmer performs they increase his salary on their own. Nonsense. Everyone at Chelsea will be paid less than last season because we didn't qualify for UCL, and it was inserted in everyone's contract.

If Olisé realy demands more then what we are paying to the likes of Enzo, Caicedo and Palmer then i dont have any regrats not signing him. He would have been a kuxery signing for us. We already sockpiled enough wingers. Id rather have 2 new Strikers and a LB then Olise on high wages.
