    Looks pretty good, but I didn't see what it looked like before you started. The M37 is just a great gun. Thanks for sharing.

    Yeah I forgot to take pics when I got it. It was parkerized (badly) had a badly fitted choke tube on the front, and a sight silver soldered on IIRC. It looked like someone made a project gun during their courses as a police armourer or something.

    Sorry forgot to mention that I have a "bubba the gunsmith rant" video a few videos before that one that shows the gun more in its nearly original form. Thanks for watching.

    martK banjoboy Yeah she runs nicely, It is my shotgun that I'll use most of the time when it comes to clay shooting for fun or "trick shooting". Unfortunately I was fecking around with it and dropped it barrel first on a rock, dinging the nicely finished muzzle, which will either have to be trimmed back 1/8th inch or banged out a bit. doesn't affect shooting though so I'm in no hurry.

    Your videos are very helpful for 37 owners, used them to take mine apart and clean it up, after reassembly it won't fire though. What should I be looking at to get it operating again? Thanks

    Did you take the forearm off of the tube? If so, did you have difficulties re-screwing the cap hold it on to the tube? The fit is so tight on mine that I'm having a hard time.

    Yeah I did have some issues with it, the wood tends to shrink a bit over time. I have no real tips on that I just took my time and cursed like a sailor.

    you can attempt a lubricant maybe or if really need be a light sanding of the parts touching the steel surface, maybe a light steaming?but try keeping it to a minimum.

    What type of oil and color did you use?

  • @Stray03

    @Stray03

    +0n1wheel used a mix of oils along with mineral spirits as the solvent , and that is the wood's natural color.

    +losing control by the hour This one is a 1949, and my other one is a 47 trap model IIRC, which unfortunately had the stock cut down, and they had a cutts installed on it (probably at the factory). Thanks for watching.

    My extractors aren't picking shells out anymore in my very old model 37 featherlight, I've cleaned chamber good & still the same, if you put in new extractors then why is it still not ejecting properly..???

  • @Stray03

    Make sure the barrel is straight, cutouts for the extractors can be shifted which will cause the extractors not to catch the rims

    No problem. I get that problem when I mess with the stabilizer that connects the barrel to the tube below the lock. Had it happen on a skeet range.

    If they are not broken or worn they normally should work fine. If they do break it can cause quite the jam and usually need to take off barrel to clear it.

    From what I remember it is just knocking out a few pins. I changed my extractor recently, I guess I should have recorded it.
