Thank you! I think different view points helps. Because I know, when I was starting, like no one else was selling finished makes (unless it was clothing) on Etsy. At least for crochet KZreadrs anyway. But, obviously being super new to crochet, I wasn't in my pattern writing era. I'm JUST NOW getting into that for BASIC patterns. So, most of my money is made in large lump sums, really far apart haha. But now that I'm getting into writing patterns, I'm seeing small amounts of money trickle in pretty frequently, but we're talking like only $1 to $5 at a time. But even if I sold a $5 pattern EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. for a month, that'd only be $150. Which, is still helpful, sure, but that's not a full time income so it's definitely not replacing a full time job for anyone. And I think that kind of thing is not talked about clearly/concisely.

It's funny you should say that because the woman I made it for collects husky stuffed animals. She's got two pet huskies that kind of started the collection. So, she's now got a curio cabinet with all her huskies, including the one I made, in it. She sent pictures and he fit right in!

It's really hard for me to accept other people's opinions on something I'm really critical of, but it usually does help to get a little distance first. That way I can come back and be more objective!

First off, WHAT!?! Not a Harry Potter fan!?! Why!?! I love Harry Potter. Admittedly, the books are better than the movies. Like, they didn't even touch on somethings in the movies. BUUUUUT they're such a childhood staple for our generation! It's like sacrilegious to not like Harry Potter lol. But aside from that, thank you haha. I really love him and I am super proud of that piece lol.

Yes! It's kind of fun too! I've made extra jumbo projects by using an 8-9mm and blanket yarn for patterns that were originally made with worsted weight or even thinner yarns.

On the subject of Disney live action, I really like the live action Aladdin: the costumes are gorgeous! (Also imo Malificent is NOT a kids movie. Very dark themes. I mean this more as a warning to parents than gatekeeping or whatever)

Your Husky is adorable.😍 Thank you for telling us how you price things, it really helps to get a feel for these things & know that the time it takes should be reflected in the price. I agree that some things may not look as if they are as 'big' etc but they can involve a lot of work! I made some witch keyrings in 1 & 2 weight yarn including, boots, skirt, top, stockings etc & a broom made out of pine needles - I love them but I gave them as presents as they took hours!!! I may make just a couple to sell but I will not sell them cheap - I'd rather just keep them!😘

Yes! I do that too. I've considered putting a few different things in my clearance bin just because I've remade the pattern to like add to the stock, but my remakes are better than the original stock, look wise, so now it makes me want to put the original stock in my clearance bin. But then, that's counterproductive because I just remade the pattern to add to that stock section lol.

I'm in Florida. But a smaller area in Florida. Not a super big tourist town like Orlando or a highly populated city like Tampa. BUT things are more expensive in Florida. I would look up what your state's minimum wage is and charge that per hour as the absolute BARE MINIMUM but remember, not everyone knows how to crochet and yarn is not THAT cheap, so don't under sell yourself either. You have a special skill! And I know personally, I'd sell more if I lowered my prices. But I prefer to sell things a little slow, but for more money because it keeps me motivated, you know. You'll get burned out selling 10, 20, 30 leggy frogs for $5 before you do when selling them for $10, you know what I'm saying lol.
