Italy/Vatican-Pope And Orthodox Christian Leaders

POPE AND ORTHODOX CHRISTIAN LEADERS SEEK GREATER UNITY
Vatican City Natural Sound Duration: 1.52"
The leader of the world's Roman Catholics and the leader of the world's Orthodox Christians have agreed that their separated churches should heal past wounds and seek greater unity in the run-up to the year 2000.
Speaking during a Mass in St Peter's Basilica, Pope John Paul II said the start of Christianity's third millennium represented a "great challenge" for humanity and particularly for Christians. In his address to the congregation, marking the end of a three-day visit to the Vatican, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I said the time had come to close the chapter on "many afflictions and just as many humiliations".
The colourful Mass was one of the rare times in Christian history that two men with the title "Holiness" were under the same roof. The white-bearded Bartholomew was only the third Orthodox leader to meet a Pope since the Great Schism of 1054, which was sealed that same year by mutual excommunications after a host of theological disputes, not least of which was the one that had to do with the bodily nature of Christ.
SHOWS:
Roman Catholic Cardinals and Orthodox Christians climbing steps. Orthodox priests meeting Pope. Patriarch Bartholomew I meeting Pope. Orthodox priests lining up to meet Pope. Pope and Bartholomew walking in processing down central isle of St. Peter's Basilica. Congregation. Pope and Bartholomew seated at altar. Catholic dignitaries. Ceremony. Nuns. More ceremony. Exterior of Basilica. Pope on balcony with Orthodox Christian priests. Crowd applauding. Pope speaking from balcony.

@FREEKAFIR Not just the Greek Old Calendarists, but the entire Russian Orthodox Church keeps Christmas on the Old (Julian) Calendar. When the rest of the world celebrates Christmas on the 25th on the Gregorian Calendar, Russian Orthodox celebrate the feast of St. Herman of Alaska. The *real* Christmas is celebrated 13 days later, well after the streets have been cleansed from the trappings of a 'celebration' of a very materialistic Christmas. Oh, and if this union you desire were to take place, then what would you do when you see the Holy Fire come down in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem on Holy Saturday on the Julian Calendar? Would you admit that the Roman Church has been on the wrong calendar all this time?

The basic rule on which the Christian faith is based is the incarnation and redemption. The theory of the incarnation is based on a very precise theoretical term, as it is no more than a theory. The theory claims that our father Adam, when he ate from the forbidden tree, committed a great sin against the unlimited God, so he did not expiate it except for unlimited redemption, so what It was only from God that he sacrificed his son for humanity, then the Christians forget that he gave his son, so they return and claim that the Father was incarnated in the womb of Mary, that is, the infinite incarnation in the limited womb of Mary, meaning that God Himself was incarnated, and he was the one who was insulted, spat on his face, crucified and died, despite the fact that God in the Old Testament does not die, meaning that God himself, not the Son, is the one who sacrificed himself for humanity. That is, God Himself preferred to be tortured, humiliated, spit on his face, and died, so that he would not forgive Adam and Eve with a word. But the Bible is full of contradictions. We come to redemption. If Jesus came to save the people from Adam's sin, why was he terrified at the time of the crucifixion? Was he more cowardly than many heroes who sacrifice themselves in battles or in life in order to save others? Why was he praying and asking the Father to pass through the cup of crucifixion, and he was sweating and his sweat fell on the ground like drops of blood? . Did he not know about the redemption and was taken by surprise? . For the one who used to pray, was he praying for himself or for God?. The crucified one crucified on the cross saying: “Eloi, Eloi, why did you shabbatni?” It means, “My God, my God. Why did you forsake me?” Because he asks his God to save him, and asks him why he left him. God’s punishment for Eve, after eating from the tree, was to menstruate, become pregnant, give birth and suffer pains, and for the snake to crawl on its stomach. Has anything changed from that yet? redemption. If Jesus was born without sin, was sin not transmitted from his mother Mary, and why did John baptize him if he was without sin? Dozens or even hundreds of questions do not find an answer for Christians. As for the flawed texts, there are countless of them, for example, but not limited to the texts of terrorism found in this link www.hurras.org/vb/archive/index.php/t-1073. html and texts of sexual stories in the Bible in this link toallchristians.blogspot.com.eg/2008/09/blog-post_2334.html?m=1 As for the contradictions in the Bible, they are found in this link www.hurras .org/vb/showthread.php?t=650 As for scientific errors in the Bible, they are found in this link www.ahewar.org/debat/show.art.asp?aid=355357 After all this, if you see that you are right, then this is your business and those who warn have been excused. If you are convinced that your book is distorted and not marketed by the Holy Spirit due to its many mistakes and contradictions and its collision with knowledge and common sense, then free yourself from arrogance and ask your Lord for guidance and save yourself. Oh God, Oh God, amounted to bear witness.

@@FREEMAN.... No, it is better to think of it this way: praying for preservation from rash, premature, even illicit union. The Orthodox Church still continues to teach what Christ taught, there is only *one* Church, *one* Body of Christ, and that one body must have the same, one faith. We do *not* have that with Rome, no matter what Patriarch Bartholomew says. We will have that only when Rome renounces *both* the false dogma of Papal Supremacy (often dishonestly called 'Papal Primacy') *and* the false dogma of the Filioque. But I notice that the partisans of premature union are carefully keeping silent about the Filioque. Do they really think we will not notice? They will have to work harder than that to pull the wool over our eyes. Speaking of "carefully keeping silent", I see nobody has mentioned how Patriarch Bartholomew is trying to usurp Papal privileges to himself, as if his own Primacy implied he has the same powers in the East that the Pope of Rome has in the West. People are keeping silent about how the other Bishops of the East are protesting against that. Not even his follow Greek-speaking Patriarch in Jerusalem (the *true* "Mother Church") will go along with it. This usurpation is the real motive behind all the evil things he is doing in Ukraine, elevating nationalist, schismatic groups to the status of an Autocephalous Church in violation not only of Canon Law but even common sense. He either does not understand or does not care how destructive he is being both in Ukraine itself and in the Greek speaking world with his "strong arm tactics" to get most Greek speaking Churches to go along with his crimes.

The Christians claim that when Adam and Eve ate from the forbidden tree after the temptation of the serpent, they made a great mistake against the unlimited God, and the sin in turn was transmitted to his sons after him, so he would not expiate it except for an unlimited redemption, which is that the father sacrifices his son for humanity, in which the son is insulted and spit on his face and crucified and died in order to Humans get rid of the sin of their father Adam, although the Bible denies that the sin of the fathers is transmitted to the children In the book of the prophet Ezekiel chapter 18:20 we read, "The soul that sins shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, and the father shall not bear the iniquity of the son. The righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him." We agree with the Christians that the Messiah was born of Mary, not a human father, meaning that he was born without Mary touching a human being. The question is how can there be a son of God? Before we answer this question, let us mention the possibilities Jesus is either a human being, a prophet, a messenger, or the son of man, or the son of God, or he is God himself. If we say that he is a human being, a prophet, a messenger, or the son of man, as he says about himself in more than one place, describing himself as the son of man, or describing himself as a messenger: “Verse (John 17:3): and this is eternal life: that they may know you. whom you sent." Or what some people said, describing Christ by saying: “Luke 7:16.” So they all took hold of fear, and they glorified God, saying: “A great prophet has arisen among us. He would not have differed from these descriptions. We come to the fact that Christ is the Son of God, so that He may be a son, God must have cohabited with Mary, cohabiting with husbands, so that she would give birth to the Son of God. And you say there is only one God. The second problem, if God had intercourse with Mary in order to beget his son, who would cohabit with him to beget Adam? The third problem, if Christ was the only begotten Son of God, would he have left him to be tortured, crucified, humiliated, spit on his face, crucified, and die for another sin, which is humiliation, not sin, just because he ate from a tree that God forbade eating from. But if you say that Christ came by the command of God or by the word of God, here the sonship is negated, meaning that Christ is a created human and not a son of God. Fourth problem: If Jesus was the Son of God, where did the story of the incarnation come from? When I had my son, I did not incarnate, but we are two completely separate entities. The incarnation means that God Himself, the unlimited, was incarnated in the womb of Mary, and He himself came out of her body, so where is the Son then? If someone entered through one door and exited through another, would he become the son of the one who entered through the first door? The other problem is that if God Himself who was incarnated, meaning that He entered Mary’s womb and came out of her, He is God Himself, would He have forgiven the sin of our father Adam and our mother Eve, would he have been tormented, humiliated, spit on his face and died, and how is this knowing that God in the Bible does not die? How could he accept all this humiliation upon himself, and he was able to forgive Adam with a word or punish him for his mistake? For someone who used to pray and ask him to pass the cup of crucifixion from him, and his sweat was falling on the ground like drops of blood. Was he praying for himself or for another? If God Himself was the one who incarnated, then where did the idea of the Son of God come from? If God is the one who incarnates, i.e. there is no son of God, then where did the idea of giving his only son a redemption for humanity originated? . We come to the issue of redemption. When you redeem your son, for example, with a hundred thousand pounds, this means that your son is dearer and more precious to you than the money that you will pay, so God will redeem Adam or will redeem people. Are they more precious and dearer to God than Christ? One of the consequences of the first sin was that God punished the serpent by crawling on its stomach. So, after the redemption, did it have legs, and what about the lizards that also did not participate in the temptation of Eve? One of the consequences of sin is that God decreed for a woman to menstruate and give birth and suffer the pain of pregnancy and childbirth. So does anything change from that after the redemption? And what about the rest of the mammals that menstruate, become pregnant, give birth and suffer in pregnancy and childbirth? Did they also participate in the sin? Is it fair for one to sin and to punish another and who is this other? It is as you say the righteous son of God, meaning if I had a servant or a slave and I told him not to eat the food in the refrigerator and eat it, would I, in order to forgive him, give my son to other people to beat him, torture him and insult him, even if I killed him? How do you judge?.

Hey @Serghei Lavrov if you are Eastern Orthodox christian, and if you believe that the Holy Spirit proceeds from the Father alone, then Who is Jesus ? He also eternally proceeds from the Father alone. If the Holy Spirit and Jesus both proceed from the Father alone, then are they brothers ? But the teaching of the Bible is clear : Jesus is the Only Begotten Son of the Father !!! By attributing 2 begotten sons to God the Father, you Eastern Orthodox are committing a great blasphemy. That is why Constantinople fell to the infidels. It is a divine punishment. Convert you blasphemer and heretic. They imitate the saying of those who disbelieved of old. Allah (himself) fighteth against them. How perverse are they! They have taken as lords beside Allah their rabbis and their monks and the Messiah son of Mary, when they were bidden to worship only One God. There is no god save Him.
