ITALY. THE HONEST REALITY ABOUT LIVING in a SMALL ITALIAN VILLAGE. LIVING in ITALY.
LIVING in an Italian village is very different to living in a large city like Rome or Milan. It seems like these cities have nothing to prove, while small villages continue to have a big stigma and often people dismiss them altogether or look at them in disbelief of any hope for the future.
This is my point of view. I hope it helps you shape your perspective!
As always, I hope you enjoy this video and if you value the content, please like, comment, subscribe.

“Often you will find that the miracle itself is just to be able to be here.” I had to write it to retain such perfect wisdom. ❤
This may be the first video I have seen youth involved. It must be difficult to be young in a small town...anywhere! Your comments were very insightful. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for watching. For what I can see they grow up respectful and confident. Overall well-rounded. There is that strength in them even at a young age that only comes from having a loving and supportive family. Most of them have access to the benefits of bigger cities and know that when the day comes they will go to a bigger city for university. Some others that will prefer to stay closer to home will go to uni at Termoli (20min away) or Campobasso (50min away).
Fiorella, your commentary was beautiful and inspirational. I will leave you with this quote by Virginia Wolf: "Whatever happens, stay alive. Don't die before you're really dead. Don't lose yourself, don't lose hope, don't lose direction. Stay alive, with all of yourself, with every cell of your body, with every fiber of your skin. Stay alive, learn, study, think, build, invent, create, speak, write, dream, design. Stay alive, stay alive inside you, stay alive outside too, fill yourself with the colors of the world, fill yourself with peace, fill yourself with hope. Stay alive with joy. There is only one thing you must not waste about life, and that is life itself."❤🇮🇹

That is a beautiful quote Jerry ☀️
Grazie! Really great narrative! "are you a tourist or a visitor?" Most of my friends are rapid tourists traveling around the world but IMHO not experiencing the local culture as a visitor. Many years ago on my first visit to Italia, I would go down to the piazza around 1700 and just be friendly and try and chat with the locals and ask them about their life first...not tell them about my life. They did not pay money to listen to my life, but, I paid money to visit their life!
Much of the rhythms of life in Italy are linked to the seasons. It's lovely to see things happening there.

The town looks very well kept, bright and welcoming. You are a very mature, sensible lovely couple to appreciate the great and simple things in life - most of us only reach this enlightenment when much older. But I’m sure it’s not all rainbows and unicorns everyday either 😊. Thanks again for capturing the poignant and beautiful snippets of village life

Ciao Carmel. You're right, not everything is perfect. I think that life is a balancing act regardless of where we are ☀️
Grazie da Texas come sempre ❤
Really nice perspective. I cannot wait to move to my place in rural Umbria and embrace what it has to offer. I look forward to contributing to my community. I appreciate how you remain being open to your local life.

Absolutely LOVE THIS ONE Fiorella!!!!!
I love, love, loved this video and peek into parts of the life of your little town. You have given us a great little tour of the beautiful town and surroundings as well as into the life of the town which is so difficult to see when you come as a visitor, even when you slow down. How wonderful that you have been entrusted to film the celebrations in the town. Nice to see that the town is moving forwards and making improvements for its citizens. I love how you are integrating yourselves into the community. Sometimes you hear that this is so hard to achieve. Good to see Aiden feeling well again. ❤ 🙋♀🇦🇺

Great video, loved seeing what you get up to in your little village. I think with you having Aden and your adorable pets makes a huge difference and it allows you to enjoy the life in a small village. I love the small villages, especially those in the mountains surrounded by greenery and forests, but after a month I would be needing more stimulation. Termoli and Manfredonia have the perfect mix for me. Live your best and stay well!!

Hi Angel. Maybe I will mention something in one of the videos, but there's not much to say really as I studied Italian at Uni. I don't intend to learn the local dialect, at least not in the foreseeable future.

Hi TBT. Yes it is an Arberesh town. The universe brought us here. We were in a position where we needed to buy a home at short notice and had seen the house we live in back when we were in Australia. I made a video a while ago on our other channel about it but should do an updated one here ☀️

@@FiorellaInItaly are you loving it? I looked online at the age demographics and it appears there aren’t that many people over 65. We are 70. My great grandfather was Sicilian and Arbereshe from Paina degi Albanese, Sicily.
❤
Most Americans live in a high speed rat race. They are tourists. Not visitors. We’ve been to Roma 31 times and can relate to your video most clearly.
What do the locals think about Americans buying properties in the small communities?
@FiorellaInItaly
9 ай бұрын
I think it depends on each community. For what we have seen we can tell that they're happy that their villages are being repopulated and thankful that one chooses theirs out of so many. We don't see fear of gentrification, as foreigners who buy in small villages are not pushing anybody out of the market. They are creating their own market by purchasing forgotten homes
Where exactly is this, what town?
