ITALY'S FORGOTTEN CITY - Exploring the remains of Apice Vecchio 🇮🇹

Ойын-сауық

A little known fact is that Italy is full of abandoned towns throughout the entire country known as ghost towns. Apice Vecchio is a large town that has been left empty since a couple major earthquakes killed a lot of its inhabitants back in the 1960s and 1980s. Spanian makes his way through the Italian countryside to Apice to explore what remains of this forgotten place.

The Plaque is a dedication in 1951 to a man called “Orlando Cantelmo” who was born in that house on 18 Dec. 1897 He was a surgeon and a clinician who was the pride of the region and it’s people. Amazing find, can’t wait to see you here in Seattle mate. How do we make this happen?!

That wedding-dress room looked like some sort of a shrine, to remember someone who lived there, the wife, the kid's soccer shoes, a flower pot. Very powerful, thanks for respecting it by not moving things around.

I doubt that. I explored abandoned buildings in Europe for over 6 years, you find these kind of rooms/setups everywhere. What happens is people explore these places, which also includes photographers. Some photographers will not touch a thing and photograph a place how they found it, to preserve the natural decay that happens over the years. However there are also photographers who will go out of their way to collect items throughout the building, and then stage them to setup a nice looking photo. Big chance is that these items where simply left by the original inhabitants, after which photographers who visited this place gathered them and staged them in that room like that. I would actually be highly surprised if that wasn't the case.

If you associate crime with misery without any kind of nuance you clearly have no idea of the general situation of illicit activities. Not all people who break the law live in misery, and actually most people doing illegal activities have a pretty decent life and are generally more decent people than the average Joe (except for politicians and oligarchs).
