Hello, gorgeous queens, Mahmood is half-Italian (maternally) and half-Egyptian (paternally). The song is about the absence of his dad in his childhood, whom he accuses of being solely interested in his money (soldi means money in Italian). So, it's an emotional song with a meaning. Since you are beautiful drag queens, I'm sure you are into T. The song representing Italy in ESC is selected through the San Remo Music Festival, and a jury and the audience have equal saying to the selection. This year, Mahmood was ranked first by the jury and second or third (not sure) by the audience, and him being selected sparked controversy in the country. The leader of the right, populist party which is in government even tweeted against the song and Mahmood, who, even though refuses to come out, is quite campy (personally, I'm like certain he is gay).

I've heard all of the songs, and this is by far the best. There are live versions you can watch and his voice is, if anything, better live. There are also lots of videos with translation in the body of the clip, readily available on KZread. This is definitely the best crafted and most meaningful song in the contest this year. 12 Points from this Israeli voter without the slightest doubt.
