Italy | Patriotic song : "Addio mia bella Addio"
The text of Farewell, my good-bye, was written in March 1848, at the Caffè Castelmur (no longer existing) of via Calzaioli in Florence. Bosi left immediately after as a volunteer of the war of independence, together with other Florentine fighters. The song soon became famous among the volunteers, who began to sing it more often at the time of departure, on the notes of an old Tuscan cantilena.
The popularity of the song always remained high among the volunteer fighters, being sung also in the following years, as for example during the battles of Palestro and San Martino (1859), or during the expedition of the Thousand (1860).

No, it's not. The flag with the crown is better-known just because it was the war flag of the kingdom. Therefore, all Allied troops that engaged Italian units during the Second World War saw that flag. The official state flag was the Tricolor with the coat-of-arms of the Savoy dynasty and nothing else.

Non è vero, anche solo nella prima guerra d'indipendenza c'erano canzoni come "La bandiera dei tre colori", e negli anni seguenti furono composte "La bella Gigogin", l'"Inno di Garibaldi" e "Camicia Rossa". Alquanto ne so non era proprio cantato dai soldati (magari quelli volontari), però c'era anche "Il canto degli italiani"

Canzone della lotta per l'unità. È cantata e suonata troppo lenta si cantava veloce al passo militare. Inoltre è anche più lunga. Mio nonno la cantava nei trasferimenti al fronte. Onore e gloria ha chi ha combattuto per l'unità del nostro paese tanto più ora che vogliono farla "federata".
