Wow! I've read Plotkin's opera book but this is the first time I've ever seen him ... what knowledge! I've been to Italy about 7 times and love dining locally and I'm probably exaggerating when I say I have 1/100 of his knowledge. What a video!
Any time Fred is on the podcast I listen to the interview at least twice: once for the joy of listening, and again to take notes. My wife, kids, and I are heading to Emilia-Romagna in March for a few weeks, and we chose that precisely because of your podcast discussion on the region. Just got the book! It’s informative and beautifully done. I’ve enjoyed Fred’s appearances on Rick’s radio show, and they helped prepare me for my trip to Italy last year. I definitely want to go back to Italy soon, and this book will teach me more!
