for a 6:43points it would have to be for the best wave of the heat, and that last one from Kade was definitely not the best of this heat. And we have to put pressure on the WSL so that the damn cut no longer exists, this is very unfair to all athletes!

Only a handful of people in the world could pull off the no hand, air reverse into the white water that Italo did. He is consitantly underscored. Bad for the sport.

Because most people would do it with style and wouldn't need to flop around like that -- and they would do it without doing a flat spin, chop hop. Italo has historically be vastly overscored -- his title year being a big example. I think the judges got it right here.

@@p1cknicka That's because an air in those conditions is forced and without flow, style or power. As for the landing, it was sloppy and awful -- because he searched for a ramp to "try to get a score" rather than simply surf what the wave provides. He was lucky to get the score he did.

It amazes me how alot of these KOOKS talk mess about Italo?? The guy is a former champion and r/u at many events thru the years, uum obviouly for a reason? He would & could humilate anyone on this comment thread out in the water? LOL Italo has been cut short on alot of scores in many events! Lots of ppl would agree to that!

Glad Ítalo won but seems Kade got screwed.

Italo has, by far, the worst style on tour, with those flat turns (you can see compared to other goofies how flat his turns are) and the air reverses (flat rotations almost all the time) are simply getting tired. Frankly, Matson should have won this heat, he just needed a bit more in each turn -- and not much.

@@adamlorden5666 You may have a point there -- but I don't fault the kid. He was caught up in the moment; a last second wave that he surfed as well as he could given the conditions and that he hoped would keep him above the cut. I get it.
