Pineapple on pizza was created in Canada in 1962 by a Greek immigrant called Sam Panopoulos inspired by the interest in all things Hawaiian at the time. The best Hawaiian Pizza I've ever had was in Vietnam with Pineapple that had just been picked. Great video. Your enthusiasm is contagious. I have to say though, I've never even heard of Pineapple pizza, do you mean Hawaiian pizza?

I now wash my rice after pre-boiling to decrease the level of arsenic. Rice picks up arsenic from the soil as it grows. After boiling for 5 minutes, discard the water, and rinse. This decreases the arsenic level by at least half.

Pineapple is a fruit like tomato, and can also be eaten salted. In France we eat《Pissaladière》, a specialty of the Occitan people in Nice (South-East), with a sauce made from salted fish and spices. Basque people (South-West) prepare a pizza with a sauce made from red and yellow bell peppers. Alsatian people (German-speaking Celto-Roman ethnicity) and the Moselle people (Germanic ethnic in the North-East) prepare their《Flammekueche》topped with Fromage Blanc (yoghourt). I tasted pineapple pizza with a freshly picked pineapple from Cambodia, it was delicious. And the descendants of Italians in France sell pizzas with different French cheeses 😋 like we eating with tarte /tartine /sandwich.

I actually respect the Italians being so proud of their food and refuse to make or eat pineapple pizzas. After all, the modern pizza was born in Napoli. Why would they want to make something not authentic and not as good. If I want to eat real pizza, no doubt I’ll choose the TRUE Neapolitan pizza, not the crappy pineapple. For pineapple pizza can always go to Pizza Hut instead 😅. Great video, I kinda expected they’ll have this reaction…😂

Why would they want to make something not authentic? Because if people ate the same thing since time immemorial, there would never have been such a thing as modern pizza. After all, modern pizza was developed from earlier flatbread dishes.

You can be proud of that type of narrow-mindedness but it's stupid because tomatoes aren't even native to italy lol. it means at some point someone tried something new and discovered it's a good ingredient to pair with other ingredients for modern pizza. this narrow-minded viewpoint is the actual antithesis to culinary growth and doesn't track with history at all. french cooking is another example that benefitted hugely from foreign influences.

Traditional original modern pizzas were developed in Napoli (so tomatoes were already available in Europe), it’s normal for them to be proud of it: the technique, the dough, the cooking procedure need years of training and skills. Obviously they want to keep this tradition for generation and as authentic as possible at their hometown. After all, people traveling to Naples to try their famous Neapolitan pizzas, not a pineapple pizza that they can easily find and eat back in their home country. I agree they should try out at least new flavour but that’s their choice. I have nothing against pineapple pizza, as I do eat them, but I preferred the traditional ones.

Uh I am part of population that don’t mind pineapples pizza 😅 I think I saw durian pizza on Pizza Hut list around here. Never tried it though, probably should be trying since I love durian.

主要在于意大利这边大部分都是罐头菠萝，新鲜的也不好吃 除非是那些空运过来的 但是价格高 做起来肯定不差

Love Hawaiian pizza too. The pineapples makes it refreshing after taking bites of meat on a pizza. It doesn't mean I don't like the traditional kind. More food for me. 😋

不一样的，菠萝的酸是用来综合cheese的油腻。就像是汉堡里面一定有酸黄瓜一个道理。饺子是不需要综合，所以菠萝不放饺子里面。看来你对食物本身没有很深的了解，引喻非常不恰当

People should be more open to innovation 😂 Food is to be eaten & if the new method of preparation suits your palate then there isn't anything wrong with it. I don't mind pineapple pizza. Never tried durian pizza but I can imagine the taste as durian is also quite a sweet fruit. Stinky tofu pizza is something I probably wouldn't try because I don't lole stinky tofu. I remember, out of curiosity, I ordered stinky tofu in Hangzhou for the first time. However, I got the waitress take them away before eating even one piece because I simply couldn't stand the smell 😅 Maybe I will try again one day when I'm in China 🤷😅😂

其实，存在就有它的理由，我虽然也没觉得菠萝披萨好吃（主要其他好吃的种类太多了）但是我不认为传统不可以被挑战。大家各吃各的，披萨上面喜欢放什么就放什么
