Italian is a Romance language spoken by about 85 million people (2022). Italian is an official language in Italy, Switzerland (Ticino and the Grisons), San Marino, and Vatican City. It has an official minority status in western Istria (Croatia and Slovenia).
Sardinian is a Romance language spoken by the Sardinians on the Western Mediterranean island of Sardinia. Many Romance linguists consider it the language that is closest to Latin among all its genealogical descendants.
If you are interested to see your native language/dialect be featured here.
Submit your recordings to otipeps24@gmail.com.
Looking forward to hearing from you!

    As you mentioned in this video, Sardinian is the most conservative surviving romance language.

    Sardinian is certainly a very interesting language. Italian- American linguist, Mario Pei, analyzed the degree of difference between Sardinian and Latin as being 8%. In addition, Sardinian also has elements of Byzantine Greek, Catalan, Spanish and Italian. Truly fascinating! 😊🇮🇹🇨🇦

    Sardinian sounds like a hybrid of Romanian and Portuguese.

    Great work Andy as usual! Just a little thing, about the map the dialects on Sardinia should be swapped because nuorese (from Nuoro city) is on the right (east) and logudorese on west side ☺️ Greetings from Roma

    Τhe articles of sardinian are similar to that of the balearic variant of catalan. Coincidence?

    Probably not, they are not very far away from each other. Also 'grogu' for 'yellow' is obviously related to Catalan 'groc' more than to Italian 'giallo'.

    Different evolution from the other romance languages, articles derived from ipse, ipsa, ipsum, instead from ille, illa, illud, Sardinian language is documented like this since XI century.

    As for the Ukrainian dialects, there's a channel named ideyaolexandrivna - the author from time to time posts a new video about them. Till now she has Boyko, Hutsul, Middle-Dnipro, and Slobozhanskiy dialects. Of course, a lot of still needs to be done, but as a good start...

    Dapoi si dice "a pustis", italianismo.. Pius dovrebbe essere prus, quella parte era un baronese, un po' influenzata dal corso

  • @sard-anonimus2818

    @sard-anonimus2818

    Жыл бұрын

    Non è un italianismo, in logudorese si dice così, a pustis non si usa in logudorese, o è rarissimo, mentre dapoi si è evoluto allo stesso modo del francese depuis, dello spagnolo despues etc.etc. così come pius che è usato in logudorese, l'evoluzione è stata diversa rispetto a nuorese o campidanese, se in nuorese si dice prus, prattu, pratta, frore etc.etc. in logudorese si dice pius, piattu, piatta, fiore etc.etc. Comunque, è Logudorese della regione del Mejlogu, nel sud ovest della provincia di Sassari, simile al Logudorese parlato in Planargia, nella regione di Bosa.
