In fact, Marcelito did not win and finished 4th. Simon's saying that Marcelito needed to up his game etc, makes sense. There was a big scandal about Marcelito not being the winner. Covid hit at exactly the same time and the scandal got buried. When the scandal was revealed, Marcelito did not want to make a big deal about it and his only regret was not having the prize money for his outreach programs in The Phillipines. Apparently, these "super fans" were added to the voting in a very murky way and, apparently, the preferred winner was selected before the competition began. It all revolved around money and marketability of the concert tours and everything else for sale. They never planned on Marcelito's talent and the fan support he received. Of course, we will never know exactly how it went down but, in my mind from everything I read, there is no doubt that he was robbed. To so many people around the world, Marcelito was then and still is a winner, a champion. He continues to be a champion for children, the poor, the elderly and the disabled.

When the producers of AGT and Simon "rigged" the outcome of that episode for Marcelito to finish fourth, I knew the "fix" was in. The winners had already been decided and the only reason they kept Marce around was to "keep the hope alive and that Marce still had a chance to win." Well, that's the cover story. Simon and the producers used and treated Marcelito like a $10 hooker from Alaska, with no respect. They kept him there because of his overwhelming popularity which translates to his "drawing power" which keeps the viewers tuned in week, after week, after week, and most importantly to keep the advertisers spending their money on that show because that's how they make their money. It's all about the advertising money and nothing else. They don't give a fuck about any of the finalists or the winner. It's all about advertising money, it always has been. That's how TV shows operate.

Marcelito Pomoy can also sing aside italian.. He can perform also Spanish song. Chinese song. And he perform Michael Jackson songs.

Ari, I hate to cast a shadow, but Simon Cowell cheated Marcelito out of winning the AGT Championship and he ended up in 4th place behind an Asian Tumbling team. Did you see the flashlights in the crowd, and the ovation? That happened every time Marcelito appeared, yet he was not "allowed" to win. I love these performances but I always feel a bit of anger. I didn't get a chance to wish you a Merry Christmas so I'll wish you a Happy New Year. Cheers.

I also posted about the scandal that went down and how Marcelito handled it in true class act and humble Marcelito style. The winner was selected before the competition even began. All of Simon's comments including how even if Marcelito didn't win he had a massive career ahead was Simon justifying that Marcelito wasn't going to be hurt in the long run by not winning. They did not plan on Marcelito's talent and his fan support. I will never watch any of those "talent competitions" again. It was and is all about money.

Also, I discovered that Simon's criticism of Marcelito's choice of songs was more than hypocritical because HE, Simon picked that song. Yes, In his usual manner, Marcelito just sailed on. AGT is staged, winners pre-determined (Simon). Marcelito should have won, but that was defined from the beginning. He should have gotten a golden buzzer (straight to the finals), but it is better for TV ratings to see him on stage more. It was nice to see him showcase his talent, but Marcelito was brought in to bring ratings, and Simon wrongly pre-defined the wrong winner. Very few people can do what Marcelito does. Marcelito undisputedly won "Pilipinas (Philippines) Got Talent" in 2011. He should have won again for America's Got Talent. TV competitions are a lie.
