Marcelito is mostly admired for his humility despite his meteoric success and popularity. His musical prowess is, indeed, God given. He became homeless when he was seven until his early twenties. He was poor, with very little education and never had any formal voice training. He has since gone to school, ventured in business and does a lot of charity work with the love and support of his wife, daughter and adoring fans worldwide. He thought he will not be able to perform. But through prayers, he executed the song perfectly. Please check out his rendition of Power of Love at wish 107.5. How amazing Marcelino pomoy your the best.

Fell in love with this song while I was living in Las Vegas. It was used during a segment of the Bellagio Fountains show [hope it still is] and I was really moved emotionally not only by the song, but by the way they intricately and beautifully wove it perfectly into the fountains' peaks and valleys. Hearing Marcelito's incredible performance brings the same emotions back. BTW, kudos to you for your methodical and knowledgeable analysis that only a professional can render. Thank you! [P.S. I love your candidness and your cute and genuine laugh, esp when you say "good-bye."

I guess the reason why he doesn't open his mouth wide open is to preserve his air in order for him to prepare switching from higher to lower register and vise versa also he looks more comfortable doing that than opening his mouth wide open when needed.
