She reminds me of when I grew up in Brooklyn ny many many years ago with all the Italian ladies on the block including my grandma and great grandma. every sunday there were 5 italian ladies in my moms kitchen with same accent and all the food to match ! unfortunately now that they have all passed i can only only remember a few recipies. God bless this lady.

My mother so much like her. I lost her in 2013. Cooked so much alike. Watching Gina brings me back to her so I can be close to her. Have no idea what it means to me.!!!;thank you momma Gina!!! Never got to meet my grandparents that came from palermo Italy to Brooklyn in 1903.

Over twenty years ago, I bought a culinary encyclopedia second hand. There was a recipe for Italian minestrone soup. I tried it and the result was extraordinary! People were raving about it! My mother's elderly friends were claiming that it had curative powers: They recovered from sicknesses. But actually, the secret of it was twofold. First, healthy ingredients, and second, NEVER boil. You can get away with frying tomatoes furiously, but usually excessive heat kills flavour. I am sure that this grandma's lentil soup is as healthy as was my minestrone!

She is such a joy to watch. In today’s world ~ this brings such warmth to my heart.

I grew up in a large Sicilian family who over time immigrated to the USA. We all lived in general proximity to each other. And the kitchen was the hub for everything. I could tell who came over the ocean when they were young and who came over later in life. all by their English accent. Nana Gina's accent is a spice you can not find in any store. If you were blessed, you grew up hearing it - usually from the Kitchen. It is the spice that makes the dish perfect. Grazie Nana Gina.

Isn't SHE LOVELY ! I was born in San Fele in the province of Potenza and with a name like Vito I knew rite away we were at the very least neighbours ! Having lost my Mom last year watching her was difficult and yet very soothing for my soul ! Just Like my mom her LOVE for family and life is comforting at the same time ! I'm old enough to be her daughter so I call her Mama Gina. She's a lovely lady. I wish her family would make a youtube video of all her songs just so we could listen to her while we relax and eat her recipes or while we cook them or just when we feel like some pretty Italian songs. I love to say along with her in my best Italian accent she has taught me...somebody like, they put , somebody no like, they don't put. She is a gem.I love her. I would love to sit and listen to her tell old stories of when she was growing up and raising her children. I used to ask my grandma and her friends for their old stories I had heard many times but I never grew tired of them.

I feel she has saved me living on my own old age like lot ppl I started buying Italian frozen dinners expensive but good but now I have heart to cook properly again & fill freezer with what make yourself like Gina I'm losing fat weight & feeling energetic again. But I notice family dropping in for meals more often ha. The secret of your children & grandchildren wanting to visit vibrant& happy nonna. I love her singing. When you sing from the heart anyone can be great singer. But I also love that Gina Nona is blessing her food reminding everyone to give thanks we have food to eat & who is providing it. The greatest recipe for me so far is making enough bread & rolls to last week. I used do this too. When you stop your arms turn to what my grandson called "upside down muscles" ugly. Love you Gina you are a gift from God & I'm sure Mother Mary inspired you to help us through the pandemic. You have no idea how your happy face carries us through the day.

I wish we had youtube when I was young. I could have preserved my grandmother in the kitchen with me forever! This is 100% beautiful!

I just want to be this lady's daughter, granddaughter, daughter in law, neighbor, friend...anything! I LOVE her! She made me want to cook up a mean soup or caldo since I'm Hispanic that's what we make on a cold day.

I love this lady I like to learn the old school ways. People need to stop buying cans and boxes in the store, easy to make your own.

Made this for our neighbour who joined us for lunch today. It was fabulous. Such a satisfying, rich, earthy flavour. It was so successful we abandoned the idea of cooking supper, but ate this again instead with homemade bread. It’s going on our weekly menus for winter. Make it. You won’t regret it.

The only thing that makes me sad is that she is not my grandma :)

OMG, this woman is my grandmother's doppelganger! Her accent, her gestures and her immaculate kitchen...it's like being back in my grandmother's kitchen. Lovely memories, lovely women.

She reminds me of my Hungarian mom.. I immigrated to USA in 1963.. my parents escaped Russian aggression and were not able to take me with them, I was 7 months old but was reunited in 1963♥️

My Nonna used to make this exact soup down to the shell pasta and topped with parmesan. The part that really got me though was when she started to sing. That really reminded me of my childhood with nonna.

I am almost 80 years old. We grew our own food, raised chickens, all in the city. We canned and dried out produce and meat, even the fish my grandfather and uncles caught. We always had a six month supply by preparing on a regular basis, including medical supplies. Sharing with those who needed help from time to time. I have continued this practice up to the present and taught my children and grandchildren to do the same. We are not panicking because we have been prepared. Reconsider this practice everyone when things begin to normalize. Prayers for our brother man. 💗
