It winds in north-east Brazil

80% of Brazil's wind turbines are located in the state of Ceará, where our ship is calling. Wind and sunshine conditions are extremely favorable for the production of continuous, low-cost renewable energy! This is what we found out on site with our partner Qair, who has huge farms in the region.
On this occasion, Victorien had the privilege of realizing one of his dreams: to climb to the very top of a wind turbine 125 meters high! A breathtaking sight! From the top, there's a breathtaking view of the Serrote and Serra do Mato wind farms and their 423MW installed capacity!
The load factor in this region is well above the global average. Serrote's wind turbines run at 40% to 60% of the time at full power, compared with a world average of 35%. Combined with solar energy, this means that green electrons can be generated almost continuously!
Ideal conditions for the deployment of green hydrogen! If the first molecule of green hydrogen was produced in Ceará in January 2023, it will soon be produced by the kiloton! From 2024, electricity generated by the solar and wind farms of Serrote and Serrra do Mato will be redirected to a hydrogen electrolysis production site. Thanks to the incredible performance of this region, the hydrogen produced could well be among the most competitive in the world!

It warms my heart to see so much solar and wind power. It would be nice if extra power generation was converted into hydrogen.
