2 minutes feels like 77 hours and children are tricky with proper depth. Well. The training dolls are tricky, I've thankfully never had to test my training. But anything that's similar will be better than just running around in circles panicky, which is what I'd want to do. 😂😂😂😂 aed's should be installed by all ponds that are like this. In the middle of a community, many houses back yards butting up to it. Seems like something that wouldn't be terribly difficult. Also could immediately alerts 911 when opened with a trip alarm.

I know the feeling! I absolutely know the feeling! My baby granddaughter was choking on a french fry and all I could think of to do was grab her up out of that highchair, put her over my arm, and give her a firm whack on the back like your supposed to do for a baby heimlich. That french fry came flying out of her mouth like a missile! When she let out a big cry I was so relieved. We were in a restaurant with my son and grandson. There were two cops on the side of the room and they witnessed the whole thing and had stunned looks on their faces. It all happened in less than a minute but it has stayed with me to this day. My baby granddaughter is now 21 years old. ♥️

I did the Heimlich on my 7 year old and the fire department came. The guy who was my CPR teacher was in the group and he was so glad that we had a good outcome... She's 48 now.

So glad she’s ok! I had to do the Heimlich on my 5 year old son a few weeks ago at my office. He’d come to work with me bc he was out of school. Everyone loves him so much and spoils him rotten. (Which is where he got the candy) He was near my desk while I was on a call and put a piece of candy in his mouth. Problem was, he already had candy in his mouth 🤦🏾‍♀️ He tried to swallow 1 of them & I could see the fear in his face immediately. I jumped up, grabbed him from behind & 2 large pieces of candy flew out of his mouth. I was so scared. My co worker came to help bc he saw me. My son & I had a very long talk about candy after that. With permission & 1 piece at a time. I think about that day all the time.

So glad they were ok! I know the feeling too well! My son was about 2 and started silently choking on a cookie at a restaurant & I just grabbed him and did what you did with the back wacks. He was fine, but I was so shook up .. even thinking about it. ❤❤❤❤

That retention pond , needs to be closed off...

Don't take your eyes off your small children. It takes seconds for something like this to happen. Thank God she's alive and well.

Unfortunately they are so quick to get away. My son was an escape artist to the point where a officer came to help me with childproofing all of his escape points. My 4 year old loved showing the officer how he could open every door and window when they were locked. Now at 18 he still surprises me with his logical thinking

@@Amandabrown83 mine climbed over the baby gate, walked 3 blocks, went down huge Stairs that went to the downtown shopping area because he found a penny and wanted to throw it it the fountain at 3 years old. Then he was going to go play on the pirate ship 5 blocks away. I had put him down for a nap, watched him fall asleep and then went to do laundry in the next room. 6 minutes to load the washer was all it took. I was running around screaming for him when a lady by the fountain yelled up that someone took him into the store thinking that was where he had come from. This was our first introduction to the police with my son wearing his Red Boots. I got to know the local officers very well.

I was outside with my four-year-old daughter and even though I was keeping an eye on her, it took me just a few seconds to look at her when I saw that she had run across the street. Fortunately, no car was driving at the time

Si you have little children? We have our property gated and my 2 year old knows how to open it so we put a lock now he knows how to climb over the fence and he knows how to open every single door in our home even if it’s locked one day he decided he was going to go visit the neighbor thank God her son was there so he got him and brought him back and he was crying like his life depended on it

This what happened to me 40 years ago. I was saved by stranger neighbors after i fell in the apartment pool.

Yes. They do! It doesn't mean they're perfect. Law enforcement has serious issues to work out. Some toxic elements. But, YES.....they absolutely do heroic things everyday!

We used those with my 4 grandbabies. They're cute and don't scare children. They're not like a dog leash as some people argue! It's a safety device, just like a carseat or water flotation device! If it saves ONE child's life, I don't care what anyone thinks about it or calls it. 😘👍 My oldest grandson wouldn't be here today without one of those things! He darted away to run under a ride at the fair and would've been crushed under the cars! No more than a foot away from danger, his "leash" stopped him cold and saved his life. I'm sure there were other instances, but that one has always stuck in my mind. He was SO close that it gave me nightmares of "what if"!! He's now a strapping 18 year old high school graduate getting ready to enlist in the US Marines!

​@@RSMR7.We prayed for my son who was told he had six months due to cancer everywhere. Two months later ,there was none. 10yrs later he saved a man from a widow maker. They prayed and he woke up the next day with no side affects from the trauma. Prayer is such a beautiful gift.

All those CPR courses save many lives. Many employers offer to pay for courses. I’ve done CPR many times both in my work … ER nurse … and out in public too. Everyone should take the course. This little child’s alive because people took the course. Think of the good you’ll do in the world! 🇨🇦🖖🏻🇨🇦

I was a 911 Dispatcher for 3 agencies. This dispatcher is not doing her job well. She’s using her EMD system but not as well as she should. She’s not taking command to help them revive this lil one. They are the reason she is alive.

Seeing a child severely sick or injured is one of the worst. As a paramedic I had 2 children go into cardiac arrest and I did CPR on both but neither had a chance as one was accidentally run over by his dad who didn’t see his 3 year old boy. He went into cardiac arrest as I intubated and the other was about a 22 week gestation old premie who was just born. I’m glad this had a happy ending because most cardiac arrests not in the hospital don’t survive and even most in the hospital don’t either but since help is there usually immediately they have a better chance.

God! Is the reason! Bless each person who helped. I pray recovery for the sweet baby 💚

Wish we had laws that forced bystanders and cops to render aid- this is how every story like this should go, but cops aren't required to do anything but call the paramedics. Glad these ones were decent in the moment.
