This time I will show you how me with a group of friends took part in a Global Game Jam 2024. We've created our first VR (Virtual reality) game on a Meta Quest. The challange turned out hay harder than anticipated, but we managed to create a full game and present it on the event.

Nice, making VR games in Unity is always fun, but always a lot of work! But being able to be around so many other like minded developers like that seems like it was a great experience! You didn’t invite me though.. 🙈

Oh yeah... What I really didn't like about Meta Quest is that it doesn't have a Link support for Mac, so you need to compile the game and put it on the goggles to test it. On Windows you can just run the game in the editor and test it using Quest without compiling, not perfect, but working quite good., Anyway interesting video, it made me miss taking a part of hackathon/jam as a student 😂 good job

Yeah! That was frustrating. I was expecting that my friends will be able to more easily test on their laptops but it turned out that they have too old GPUs :(
What do you recommand for make Multiplayer game on Unity in 2024 ? Unity Multiplayer Networking ? Mirror ? Photon Engine ?
Which video editing software do you use?

Isnt there a unity preview app for the quest like there is for normal Android phones by using the android debug bridge? For developing mobile games its super useful you press play on the editor and the game shows up working on your phone

You’re correct! Unfortunately in case of VR that isn’t supported on the Mac and the PC we had were unsupported (too old GPUs :( )
