I feel your frustration and I totally get it. I've been doing KZread since 2006 (mostly since 08) but I never wanted to make money, just fun. Since about 2015 I've seen next to no growth (under 2,000 subs) and none of my vids do very well at all. It's highly discouraging, but I still like to upload when I can every once in a while. I hope you don't merely look at this channel as for profit, because you're passionate about what you do, Phil, and it shows. You helped me out a lot with my Supra and I learned a ton from you and got inspired. You cannot put a price on that. I really look forward to more content from you :)

Aw man! I just found your channel too! Four videos in, I can tell you poured your heart and soul into each and every video you made. Remember why you started your channel in the first place. It's about expressing yourself, sharing your ideas, and connecting with others. Don't let numbers define your worth or passion. That spark to make videos and create will always be there. Who knows, maybe you'll team up with someone who shares your same passion and you may consider going back part time as a creative outlet. Buckle up, homie. Life has a way of taking you on roads you didn't even know existed 💪

Hey man, sorry to hear that. I really loved the last supra build, and thx to you I got the motivation to buy a car and work on it, so last summer i also bought a supra mk3 with a blown head gasket, I fixed it and drove it around for a year, but I had to sell it last month cos of some electrical problems and I didn't had time to fix it because of school. I hope this lil story gives you a smile :) and I really wish you the best for the future.

Hey man, sorry to hear that it didn't work out, I wish you wouldn't have to go but if it's for the better it must happen, I'm glad I was able to tag along in the journey of the channel, I hope things get better and that maybe outta the blue you can blow up for sure. Best of luck.

Sucks to hear this, the 3000 brought me to your channel, i am not much of a supra guy. I could hear myself saying the same thing as your dad LOL. I have chased many dreams, been a motorcycle mechanic on the side for over 20 years and almost went full time until i realized turning a passionate hobby into a job would be terrible. You have to do what brings you joy. I have a channel for fun, i wouldn't enjoy it as much if i needed it to support my family. You are young, keep grinding and you will figure things out.

Hey bro I wish i could just tell you this your face but its rather unfortunate Phil Before I saw your channel i was in and out of a lot of things for the same reason yu are leaving but you taught me how to keep it going even if its not what everyone is interested in. Truth be told, i didn't come here for the cars there are a million other builder putting big moneys into their builds and pretending to be working hard on them I came for the energy yu put into your work and how yu manage to make it work regardless I came for the transparency You didnt fail doing KZread There's just something you are not doing or getting right Take it easy Figure that out I will wait here till you come back ❤🇬🇭

Sorry to hear that you are at a point of feeling this way. I understand that feeling of failure (I had tried and failed Computer Science; it would be many, many years before I attempt learning a programming language again). At this point, I would agree that what's most important would be getting back to where working on cars for you is fun again. I wish I knew how KZread algorithm works so I could offer advice. Nothing wrong with getting a normal job and maybe upload a video 5 minute video once a month (or couple months or whatever feels manageable) on the side for fun or enjoyment. Whatever is next, I hope more opportunities and successes comes your way! Maybe a road trip in the Sienna (solo or with a few friends) might help. 🛣️

Hey man, I really enjoyed getting to see you and your channel grow over the years. I hope you know that although your channel may have not worked out like you wanted it to that it was not in vain. It's not a failure, and don't think you are ether. Well, I know what got me subscribed was the 1jz swap as i was swapping my supra to 1jz as well. I'd say stick with cars that have a huge following maybe reach out to another KZread channel and do something. would love to see some performance mods to the supra. That first supra journey was great. 2j swap that red one and film it. Film yourself making the harness. Anything JZ related gets views. doesn't need to be a 2j turbo swap start with a N/A 2J and go from there.

really sad to see a real grassroots motoring channel being lost. Bigger channels are becoming more and more unrelatable and unengaging.

You shouldn't give up man, it hit me when you said "Maybe I should just listen to my dad and get a "real job". I know how that feels. But I think you should look deeper in why your car is not working because it could be many things that could cause your car to die off. There is one thing you didn't mention when you were talking about parts you've changed. I took a quick thought. Remember cars work on three things. Air, fuel, and spark. You said you changed the spark plugs and some engine components. Did you look at the fuel system of the car? I don't know maybe you did. Just don't want you to give up man. I should say you should ask for a second opinion if you want your car to work. Try investing on a website that has manuals for cars like All data, instafix i think that's the name and many others out there really.

But I mean you probably have some stuff in your life going on too bro so that would be understandable. Im just trying to say you shouldn't give this up if making videos about cars is a passion. Maybe just plan it out start from zero and see what happens

I'm not gonna come in here and tell you what you did wrong or anything like that but after watching a few videos I can definitely see what was missing. It never really felt like it was a full commitment channel.. And I don't mean that to be disrespectful at all but it just always seemed like there was no learning or teaching involve in the process. Just kind of filming yourself doing something whatever it may be on a car, There is no content or a projects that seemed planned in advance or any kind of actual organization. And regarding how long you were on KZread I think that is entirely irrelevant I think all that really matters is how long you're willing to sit down and just take notes on the channels that have succeeded and draw some very obvious parallels between all of those that have succeeded and continued to succeed in this damage and then simply incorporate more and more of those aspects into your channel. And it seems like people don't want to do that because they will be no longer doing their own thing but that's the point of appeasing the masses instead of the minority if you want to reach a lot of people you have to do something that a lot of people are interested in watching and When you can simply look up other car channels and see exactly what is getting them viewers even by going into the comments and reading what people are most happy for regarding the video and what they like the most it Really just comes Down to planning and execution...
