"It was an open goal!" | PMQs Analysed | LBC
James O’Brien and LBC’s Political Editor Natasha Clark analyse this week's PMQs as Rishi Sunak faces Sir Keir Starmer.
'Keir went pretty hard on prisons with a side order of knives'
'Of course these criminals shouldn't be released early, but they are…'
'He is a risk to Britain's security'
'Rishi Sunak is a bit like detached shower head, you don't know what direction he's going to spray in next, and the idea of getting washed underneath it is slim'
'The Labour Party is not the same Labour Party as it was in 2020 under Jeremy Corbyn'
'It's a bit of a stretch, isn't it Natasha?'
'The messaging is all over the gaff... it's a completely scattergun approach'
'That laser-like focus on something makes campaigning so much easier, as long as you don't focus on the truth of the claim...'
'Both Party leaders have handcuffed themselves to a bandwagon heading in the opposite directions...'
'I think it was slightly overhyped by them'
'It was an odd exchange in the end because they are all speaking to different audiences'
'It completely destroys his argument'
'Keir Starmer was very tactical'
'It doesn't land'
'The Tories' messaging is completely over the place'
'Mad politics, isn't it?'
'It was a wide open goal'

His defence spending commitment is unfunded as well as the 75 billion being made up from data from 2 different data sets, there defiantly tough on defunding spending on the justice system and quote Amid the ups and downs of technical recessions is a bigger picture of stagnation. GDP per capita grew in early 2024 for the first time in two years, but it is still down 1.3 per cent over this period, and has grown by just 4.3 per cent over the past 16 years in total. In contrast, during the 16 years running to the financial crisis in 2008, it grew ten times as much - by 46 per cent in total.
Itll be a real confusing day for some if Scotland becomes independent, and the "United Kingdom" and "Bitiain" will still exist exactly as before. . As one is the Unification of the monarchies, and one is an island, and both will remain untouched.
I’d love to be a fly on the wall when james Forsyth and Rish! are strategising for PMQ’s…..the sense of fatuous entitlement encountering private pike levels of perception ….
I am old enough to remember miik at Primary School and was a milk monitor in the late 60's It involved arriving at school early, distributing the correct number of bottles to each classroom, and the best bit for me, as I love milk, first dibs on any extras. I am sure that a 10 year old wouldn't be allowed to do that today, let alone unsupervised!

Sunak couldn’t answer with any detail at all. Changed his answer to the economy when questioned about letting dangerous criminals out early. No matter the subject Sunak is unable to answer or refuses.

While not justifying the crime, is it a shock that shoplifting is on the increase? It's an embarrassment that we now take tents on our high street, foodbanks and school provisions for granted. This weekly pantomime can spin the figures anyway it wants but things are very bleak for a lot of people, and I'm not sure any of these clowns have a solution.
Sunak always answers a question by saying what the oppostion havent done , not their own failings.
Fear is a great motivator. Reality is a much harder thing to sell. Public perception of crime has been out of whack with reality for decades.
Come on KEIR STAMMER ffs
Fishi lied????? Surely not!!!!! 😂
The only thing Tories are fighting for are to stay in power, line their own pockets and keep the rich rich.
Could someone explain what actual threat to the British people is posed by our WWII allies Russia and China?
Where is Sangita?
What sticks in my craw listening to these weekly conversations is one of the reasons Sunak is PM is because JOB his media cohort worked to keep Labour under Corbyn out. Who did they expect to win, the Lib Dems.
