Incredibly delicious way to cook sweet potatoes! It tastes better than pizza, simple and delicious! If you do not have any dinner ideas and would like to try something deliciously new try this sweet potato recipe and I am sure you will want to make it again! 🥣 Ingredients for the base:
3 medium-sized sweet potatoes
🥣 Sauce ingredients:
4oz | 120g | 1/2 cup cooked chickpeas
1tbsp tahini
1/2tsp garlic powder
salt to taste
1tsp lemon juice
2tbsp water
🥣 Topping ingredients:
zucchini
black olives
chopped sun dried tomatoes
dairy-free parmesan or cheese of your choice
🧑🍳Cooking tips:
❗Feel free to add your favourite herbs and spices to the recipe to get your favourite flavour.
❗If you do not have mandolin slicer you can use a knife, cheese planer or vegetable peeler.
🥣 Method:
Cut 3 sweet potatoes into 1.5inch | 4cm slices.
Steam sweet potatoes until tender for about 15 minutes.
In a food processor bowl combine 4oz | 120g | 1/2 cup cooked chickpeas, 1tbsp tahini, 1/2tsp garlic powder, salt to taste, 1tsp lemon juice and 2tbsp water.
Blend until smooth and creamy.
Taste and adjust it as needed.
Grease non-stick pan with oil.
Place sweet potato slices in a pan and mash with a fork or potato masher.
Season with salt and black pepper.
Cook over medium heat until the bottom is golden and crispy.
ℹ️ Alternatively you can also bake sweet potato crust in the preheated oven at 500F | 260C for 15 minutes.
Flip mashed sweet potato over when the bottom is cooked.
Spread the chickpea sauce first.
Add zucchini slices, olives and chopped sun dried tomatoes.
Add dairy-free parmesan or cheese of your choice.
Cook until the bottom is golden and crispy.
ℹ️ Alternatively you can grill sweet potato pizza in the oven for about 15 minutes.

You make this look so easy. My potatoes totally stuck to bottom of pan. Maybe I need a better pan. I'm kitchen challenged and love the look of your recipes....I just always struggle with them.

I tried this today and am majorly confused. How do you keep the potato mash from just falling apart and turning into mash? Frying in a pan alone didn't do it.

It should work fine if you follow the recipe shown in the video. Do not peel sweet potatoes. then steam sweet potatoes and mash with a fork or potato masher, slices stick to each other and it works perfectly well. Please let me know if you have any further questions. Have a nice day!

@@WeCookVegan So, I watched again, for the fourth time now, and realized that the potatoes aren't supposed to hold like pizza dough. I tilted the pan at some time to put the flat thing on a plate. But then the whole thing collapsed to a lump of mash. Next time, I will just use a big plate to turn it over like you did. :D It was still tasty!

For sure nothìg in common with a pizza. It's sweet, soggy and it's a baķed mashed potatoes. It's a big offence for a recipe that has more than 100 years to call it pizza.
