It's Time for Plan Q // Rocking 40MPH Winds // Quartzsite boondocking // Part 3 of 3
Turned away at the Mexican border, we headed to Yuma for boondocking, Los Algodones for shrimp tacos and fix our soda fountain equipment as 40mph winds raged in the desert. After a week we traveled up to Quartzsite to camp in the desert with other HDT'ers.

I thought at some point I would like to spend a winter in the Arizona desert. But the more I watch the folks that do that the less I want to stay there. Just don’t feel like getting sandblasted for three months each year lol. I believe we will stick to South Central Florida.
@bigtruckbigtravels
Жыл бұрын
There are some advantages to boondocking for the winter in SW desert area, especially for solar with lots of unfiltered sunny days with low humidity and cool nights. BUT... it does get dusty... really dusty. SW Fla is nice in the winter... no dust and not real windy. We're going to boondock around Fla after the new year too. Enjoy and appreciate your comments.
When you go places you should give cost of things. Would make the videos so much better. Not everyone can go to these places. Thanks great video.

If at 1st you don't succeed try try again a few hours later and also what I do is ask them if it's OK to pay for permission and show them a 20 or a couple of 20s in your case because your driving a 300,000 dollar rig so 40 or 50 dollars ain't nothing and 9 times out of 10 when they see cash it's really hard for them to refuse and they'll say andale pasale and then just say Gracias and walla your in don't be a cheapskate tip um and they'll love you 😉

Hey Sean- you don't have to tip the buskers because they do get a "kick back" from the business; however, in some instances we will tip them a dollar or two. Some really go out of their way to help. It's a neat atmosphere in Los Algodones, almost a "Disney-esque" type of Mexico. LOL 😎

Wth is it with the rash of KZreadrs lately using clickbait titles? Never seen any of your videos before, but the title for this one caught my eye. Very disappointed that you told absolutely nothing about why you were denied entry to Mexico. And so with that, goodbye.
@bigtruckbigtravels
2 жыл бұрын
Sorry to hear how you feel about it. The title simply stated that we were denied entry. The previous video goes into a lot of detail as to why we were denied (last 4 minutes explains why Mexico denied our entry). This was a "3 part" group of videos from Vlog 7 (Tampa to Mexico) - Vlog 9 (Denied). I wanted to try and set the stage so it would be interesting. I'm sorry that you "read the ending of the book" and didn't start at the beginning. I'll try in the future to make it more clear for my viewers. Again, I apologize for your experience, but I hope that you'll at least watch vlog 8 (the previous video) to get the story on why we were denied.

@@playhooky thanks for your feedback. We are new to KZread and are trying not to get killed with the sharp learning curve. And yes, we now realize the videos have to stand on their own merrit which is hard when the video should have been 1 instead of 3, but who wants to watch a 1.5 hour video? 😉 hopefully you'll stick around and give us a chance. Thanks again for your feedback and understanding.
