Right. I prefer straight hair to curly hair (using heat tools, a heat protectant and oil on the ends). Before COVID I was getting it trimmed. I get criticized because I don’t really care for my curly hair because my hair is fine and gets tangled easily. Having straight hair is easier to deal with.

I'm in my 50's and have had my hair relaxed since I was 17. I have never looked back since the day I first relaxed it, and I have ZERO regrets. Menopause is a little rough, but my hair is almost down to my hips. For all you "naturals" out there, do your thang! If you like it, I love it. But can I get the same respect from you that you get from me?!?!?

@@number1beastielover the argument is about what's healthy tho. That's why so many are against them. The health risks we take just to have straight hair. Also, the proof is in the science. It weakens and breaks down the hair's protein bonds. I'm also against the current standard of beauty that our hair has to be straight. I respect people and their right to choose but I don't understand why I have to respect relaxers

Actually that texture in the back made me understand why she’s relaxed. those curls would be a struggle, it can be done if you want to but I understand giving up 😆

I also have relaxed hair.My health doesn’t allow me to maintain or go natural. However people see my hair and the thickness and don’t believe that I’m relaxed. I don’t know if that supposed to be a compliment or a diss
