The lock doesn't effect the action of the blade. It functions solely by locking or unlocking the 2 halves of the frame. The blade will do its own thing obviously. It prevents the knife from folding open accidentally, and also works as a lock when the blade is out.

Painful to watch you figure out how it locks when it’s so obvious. Love the videos guy!

Reate does have really nice deep torx screws! More brands should !

Still diggn my exo m I can see that finger driver coming in handy

Kev the lock is catching the frame so the lock only locks the frame from opening The blade is being held by the cut out in the front or the back of the bottom frame that it rides on

It doesn’t lock onto what you think. It just locks the handle closed

Nice disassembly. I also wish they would have aftermarket inlays.

Cool video! Figure it is possible to swap the pivot on the M model with the original one? I asked it to reate and they don't seem to react to questions like that which I find kind of a bummer.

Yeah, the main pivot is just the same size and the old one fits the new frame like a doll. It turns out that I had a very stiff frame on the original model. The pivot from it fit really nicely into the M model, yet the M pivot feels sticky in the original frame. If only they hadn't put so much loctite on those screws...

What's the torx size for the screws ?
