wow, you are so right that charlie thinks he's won the lottery with nick but thinks nick has just gotten the consolation prize. charlie is literally the only person who can't see how much nick is obsessed with him. he's so in love with charlie and he physically can't hide it at all but charlie has been broken down and made to believe that he is worthless and disgusting that he can't even fathom nick could feel that way about him. it's why I don't necessarily agree with the "charlie fell first but nick fell harder" thing. i think they are both just as in love with each other but charlie is more reserved in showing it because he's spent the last year downplaying who he is due to the bullying and no matter how much nick says and shows he cares for charlie there is always some part of him that can't let himself believe it. he's protecting himself as much as he can. the way nick loves charlie makes me cry but it's so amazing to watch charlie slowly realize that nick truly does love and like him, unconditionally. nick and charlie break my heart but in the best way. i can't wait for season 3 and I'm so looking forward to your reactions to it!!

One of my favourite little touches in this season is the globe in Charlie's bedroom, when Nick & Charlie are getting dressed for prom. The light inside is off at the start of the scene, then as soon as Nick sees Charlie in his suit, the light inside comes on. Charlie literally lights up his world 😊

One thing that I loved about this episode, besides the obvious parts, is when Nick mentioned having a crush on his rugby instructor when he was 12. It's a clear call back to the first episode of season 1 when Nick clearly wanted Charlie on the Rugby term (I mean, I heard a hint of desperation when he said 'I can teach you'). Nick was already becoming obsessed with Charlie but didn't realize at the time. I often have argued that Nick fell for Charlie at the same moment Charlie fell for him, he just didn't realize it because he thought he was straight.

Mate, your year 10 and 11 speech nearly made me cry - I remember so much, people really hating for me wearing black nail varnish and liking fellow guys. As you said, the differences were a weakness back then. Now I know, I am me. You're great.

I enjoy your reactions! Great Job!!! This season really was so powerful. I cannot watch it without bawling 😭 my eyes out. Especially episode 8 Charlie wrapping himself into a ball and Nick removing the layers…. So powerful. I love these characters so much. It seems there is a lot of green tones this season and I think it’s because Nick and Charlie are a couple now and. Because 💛+💙=💚. 😊 Season three will be a bit deeper and darker, but I am confident Alice and team will do an amazing job! Excited about Vol 5 in December. BTW do any of you spot Alice in the background when they are setting up for prom? Also, the last song playing in episode eight is William Goa his sister. I think he is playing the piano and she is doing the vocal. It’s beautiful. They have a band called Wasia Project. That song is called “ ur so pretty” So many mixed emotions here! I believe Ben does recognize he is toxic to Charlie on the multiple occasions because after each one, he offers his lame apology and believes he truly has apologized to Charlie until during their study hall time Nick forces him to better see how much he hurt Charlie I, too, felt bad for Ben during his sincere apology at Lambert, but if he was truly truly regretful he would not still be acting like a douchebag. Actions will always speak louder than words. In real life, people will tell you and show you who they really are. Bash seems like a lovely human being and it would have been amazing to see Ben really turn around. For me, I’m sad and a bit scared for the Ben character because he is in such a dark place and literally has not one person in his corner. Hopefully, he really does see how rotten he has been and does make better decisions moving forward……especially now that he sees just how happy he could be. I understand he has an unsupportive home life but that doesn’t give him the right to be so nasty to people. That’s the part that is unforgivable. That’s why Charlie has no forgiveness for Ben. If Darcy’s and Ben’s parents can’t accept and love them for who they truly are, maybe it’s best to walk away from them until they can….if that’s even possible. FAMILY is not always who you’re born into. Seek out and find the right people and surround yourself with them. 💛💙.

this season was so powerful and so emotional i cryed in nearly every episodes its was so beautiful to watch and the cast and the writers and everyone who was in this and music its was perfect and u can feel the connection and feel there pain as well its perfect and i love it u can see how much he love char and care for him and i love it and i do agree with u nick is boyfriend that char need in his life that will stand up for him and just be there for him its was so beautiful to see this and kit and joe who played {nick & char} need to get warded for this its so beautiful scene .

I think it’s difficult to compare seasons, especially with a show like this. To me, I felt it was deeper, richer and maturer. I don’t think it was so dark that the teacher’s love story was a shiny moment. I think what Alice Oseman does well is balance the joyful moments with moments that threaten that joy in such a way that’s honest. This season ended on a bitter sweet note. They’ve rearranged somethings from the comics. For what comes next, there’s a tough journey ahead for Charlie. Volume 4 ended with the family dinner where Nick comes out to his father, but they’ve moved that ahead which makes me curious for volume 5 and season 3. I’m hoping they have another season after the next. Such a load of things to detangle and progress from where we leave these characters for just one season. Season 1 was volume 1-2, but Season 2 was more or less only volume 3.

I feel like Isaac did read a book about Ace before, in the first episode at the sleepover, when they were all outside saying goodbye at Charlie’s house. It looked like the front of Isaac’s book said Ace. Pretty sure.

That book was called Ace of Spades by Faridah Abíké-Íyímídé - it's not about ace characters though it is an amazing LGBTQ+ thriller. I think you're right that book was shown as a hint to what Isaac was experiencing at the sleepover watching all the couples. He did read Summer Bird Blue and had bought Loveless at Shakespeare and Co. in Paris, both books about Ace characters.

I actually hope Charlie didn't send the text, because the scene in the comics where they profess love is extremely cute.

The “I’m bi, actually” thing has been interesting. I actually understand a certain amount of the cringe reaction some people had to it, because it’s odd that Nick repeats the exact same phrasing every time. The reason is that it’s fanservice/an inside joke the show is having with comic fans, because “I’m bi, actually” is an iconic line/panel from the comics. Personally I think the show overdoes that aspect *slightly*, and wouldn’t have been opposed to them switching up the phrasing and dropping the “actually” a couple of the times to make it less overdone. *However*, people who cringe at the fact that Nick keeps bringing up his bisexual identity are either missing the point, or part of the problem. I totally get people who think we shouldn’t have to use labels and people should just date whoever they want and it’s not anybody’s business. Yes, and if that’s you then go for it! But some people go too far down that direction, and start shaming people for being loud and proud and *specific* about their identities. And when I see it from gay people towards bi people, I can’t help suspect it comes from a place of biphobia, and the belief some people have that bi people are just gay people with internalized homophobia. I might be reading too much into it, but the sheer volume of people legitimately complaining and actively annoyed or even angered about what is at worst a slightly overdone bit of fanservice makes me suspect this is a driving force behind it. Even if people aren’t aware of their own biases.

Darcy's Mom is the worst, she is homophobic and racist and did you see Ben's comment under Nick's post? and the last 8 minutes breaks me, I was a mess😭😭😭 I work in a hospital and see many kids like Charlie, specially young boys and I wondering about Nick & Tao's friendship, in the yellow book Nick is saying he never liked Tao 🤔 and Imogen is not longer an Ally? She is a bi-lly? I hope we see in season 3 the shower scene 😊 and the last song your so pretty is from William Gao and his sister
