When I was there in 2014 my friend nearly died in the same situation you were in at the start of the video. We were in a car he was on a bike, we got stuck on the first big sandy hill as you leave the road. My friend made it over and didn't want to stop while he had momentum. We tried a couple of times to get past the first hill without success. After a while our friend hadn't returned and we got a little concerned as it was about 50C and he was wearing full leathers. We walked over the hill and went looking for him, after a couple of minutes we were met by a 4x4 with our friend inside. Apparently he had gotten most of the way to the crater then dropped the bike. Trying to pick his bike up in the sand had been so difficult that he collapsed. Luckily a few minutes later this 4x4 happened to pass and picked him up, gave him shelter from the sun and water. But it could have been deadly otherwise as we were probably half an hours walk away. Stay safe!

I noticed one thing(well thats what´s more important for me as traveller) that guy in his old motorbike showed you a way and basically drove there to guide you. It´s worth mentioning not much happens these days. hope it was for free:) btw, i´m turkmen and live my country. what you have seen is just tiny bit of my land.

Ten points to Gryffindor! 😁 Yes, I am. If one day you do end up here, you would definitely need to be more amphibious to reach the really gorgeous areas. I really do wish you would one day. Because though I have more than quite a few things I hate about this country, the nature is sure as hell not one of them-lit's beautiful.

hey Nora! I got a question for Turkmenistan. As I know you gotta pay to tourism agency to get visa and they also sell tours etc... My question is how was getting visa process and how were you able to travel around without any tour guide so freely ?

I got a transit visa so I was allowed to travel around freely.

I think at a minimum you should put which city/country you are in, in the description. It will help new viewers like myself navigate your videos.
