Welcome Larry, I enjoy many periods of music. My wife and I just got done watching Meet Me In St Louis tonight. I don't think either of us had seen it before and I didn't realize that Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas was from that movie. I have always thought that the early 1900's was also an exciting time to live in the US. Many new inventions coming into use and the US was a manufacturing giant. I also like the homes and clothing from the period as well. Thank you for watching all the videos Larry.

Hearing this nice sounds of gone times, mekes me to think that those past times were, in this sense, way away of those we are actually living and wish to jump back in time and run the risk of getting back to years before being born, assuming these years, after all, were not so bad as we are made to belive!.

Nice music that makes oneself to fly away this reality that corners our lives into crazy stress and trouble. Possibly, we and personally myself, were not present that times word lived, but music and performance make me feel were not worse than harsh reality we are immersed right now, full of umpersonal technologies that throw people away as . junk

What a splendid compilation, I love track eight: "When you love" with that fabulous trumpet solo, most probably featuring Bunny Berigan. I do not recall hearing this song and wonder if anyone else has. My records show no other band or soloist ever releasing this number as a record available to the public in either the USA or Great Britain. Any thoughts?

  • @pax41

I agree it is most likely Berigan on the solo. Asking a friend to see if he knows the answer to your question.

"Lonesome Lover'! This version cant be beat! It starts out normal right into the vocal, THEN LET`S LOOSE AT 1:45 then The Banjo hits a Small solo chord that Drives Me Wild!! To the End, WITH SOME OF THE MOST AWESOME PLAYING I HAVE EVER HEARD! I Love this Record so much! I Have Two! I am not Musically Knowledgeable, What would this be called when they abruptly Staccato Play the Instruments Where they Drop the notes like this!?? OH ALL OF THESE ARE BEAUTIFUL!

Others that stand out for me are the Nichols, Del Lampe, Ed Lloyd, Bob Causer and Adrian Rollini -- I'm sure many recognized Bunny Berigan and Benny Goodman on Rollini's "Sweet Madness."
