I have done this as well, and it works! I spend a couple of hours every week practising my putting, both at my home course and other local courses, as well as on a home putting mat. I'm lucky that I enjoy it, and find it very relaxing. When other players ask me why I putt so well, and I say "Practise, practise and more practise!", they look at me like I'm weird. I think that practise is a real key, but maybe practise cuts into their drinking time!

Triple track tech was developed in St. Louis, MO in partnership with UMSL college of optometry. I actually contributed to the testing that provided that 11% improvement figure! As for your pro v1 dream: during development I actually had a mold that could put the track on any ball, but I had to give it back for obvious reasons. Fun to see you talking about tech that we helped develop/test!

I have the Marksman. The combination of more accurate alignment and great balance/feel has drastically improved my putting. I don’t use the triple track ball all the time, but since getting the putter, I’ve definitely shaved a few strokes off my round. Was consistently in the high 80s/low 90s. Since purchasing, I have been consistently in the low 80s and even shot a personal best 79 at my home course a couple of weeks ago. My home course is an incredible challenging mountain course in the smoky mountains of southern Appalachia. Lots of undulation on the greens. I also got a set of M2s after researching them through RS’s vids. Golf has become a lot more fun since I made these two purchases. Thanks Rick!

  • @Boredinsane-Extreme

I realize it has been 2 years since the video, but I just tested out the ten triple track spyder putter from Oddesey. I thought it was great, stable weights on toe- heel and the ball came off the face with soft feel and great sense for speed. So much better than my current cheap putter that I wanted to put down $200 US (on sale now) for it. But in the end, with all 'imperfection' that you mentioned, I figured it's mostly on the golfer to adjust to 'imperfection' swings, imperfect surface/ weather conditions, and any quirks of the putter to make the putt. I am also against any 'tool' that makes the user dependent on the tool rather than being a better user of the tool (In which the triple track may tend to do with so much focus on the alignment). Thanks for the review.

Last week the pro at our little 9 hole par 3 course in Pismo Beach gave me his putter and ball to try after my round. It was a triple track. I putted from maybe 10-15 ft and sunk the first ball. When I putted the other direction, but same distance, it didn’t go in, but stopped just off the right edge of the hole. I talked to the pro at our San Luis Obispo Country Club and he had a triple track demo club for something like $360. I currently use a Rife mallet putter (I have no idea what I paid for it, but it was the only Rife at the CClub so maybe it was on sale). Being a duffer as a golfer I’m not sure I want to blow nearly $400 on a new putter, but it is tempting. Fun review, thanks!

I actually read an article explaining the concept of "Acuity", which is basically what the 3 line alignment is based upon. I added this to my Putter before last season began and it definitely helped me out! The colors and widths of the lines are a part of "Acuity". I believe it's 2 thicker lines of the same color with a thinner center line of a different color. Using "Acuity" is supposed to be much better and more accurate, relative to a single line or mark. There's more advanced forms of "Acuity" that use the above (1 direction method) and add a line that equals the faces leading edge so you have a |T|. and that's what I applied to the putter I began using last season. It actually works and it helped me quite a bit. Now I have the direction down...but unfortunately it does nothing to help judge the speed, so I'm still a lousy putter! 😳😥😪😢😭😭😭😭

Great move by Callaway, one big thing I’m concerned about is, the allegations against them in regards to their quality control at their ball factory, supposedly they’ve invested millions to improve their factories but of course, those are only words, I want proof of an improvement before I switch to a chrome soft x. The thought of an off center core in a ball just bothers me. Great video Rick!

I have attended a kick off the year meeting at the Callaway ball plant in Massachusetts every year for the last 6 years. It is crazy how much change has happened in that building every year. And what I learned from the sales rep this past fall. The largest room they use to hold the meeting in is no longer available at the plant it is now full of equipment.

Last Callaway driver I owed the center of the face cracked. Also had an xhot hybrid, face caved in in less than a year, replaced it with their XR hybrid and that one caved in no joke after 3 shots. So all those issues combined with the ball quality control issue I personally won't ever play a Callaway piece of equipment ever again.

Gonna give this a go. I just stuck a postage label on my putter and marked it up with three lines (with the help of a set square) and then took a Wilson golf ball and held it up to the lines and marked across. I'll just swap to the Wilson when I'm on the green as it will be a clean ball. I'll see how it goes... :) I'm still (very much) a beginner so I'm just playing for fun with a few friends.. no competition stuff or even trying to work on a handicap yet.

However, this putter in combination with the ball has helped my putting more than any other thing I've tried. Shot my best 18 hole score after 3 rounds with this putter. Shot an 81 which was 4 shots better than my previous best. It does take some practice to remember your pace as well as your line.

I think, and Rick alluded to this several times, that the main idea is that the lines increase ones level of confidence in the line. In golf an increase in confidence will absolutely knock shots off ones score. Having said that, I'm content with the single line on my ProV1's while using a MUCH less expensive putter (my putter does have an alignment line on it also).

Looooooove this review. Again HONEST as can be. True about guys like me who tend to ‘cut’ across the ball on my putting stroke. Still tempted to try it! Would you compare it/test it against a See More putter, as far as I know they also help to align the club head. That would be super interesting to see (in my opinion). Though ‘touch’ seems to be harder to get as I would be soooo focus on the line and rolling it straight. Again thanks for keeping it honest, pros and cons! Another great review!
