    Great videos Doug. Keep up the great work. Can you explain your 5th goal list in the beginning ( don't bluff strong ranges) or point me towards a resource to learn?

  • @dougmccuskerpoker

    @dougmccuskerpoker

    4 ай бұрын

    When your opponent is repping a strong range that connects with the board, don’t try to bluff as often. He most likely has something he will call with. Instead bluff more when his range is weaker and/or doesn’t connect well with the board. Attack weak ranges, avoid strong ranges.

    Doug, Your approach and Playing style is something most 1/2 or 1/3 players should learn from. I think most players who play regular small stakes get into a mode of only considering a session a win if profit is above $1k and end up staying on the table and putting chips at risk. I play like you do. I set a timer and set a $ limit(I dont believe in running "hot" so that I have to stay more) but If I buy in for $400 and Have a $400 profit, I rack up and leave. thats 100% ROI. I truly enjoy your vlogs man! Keep up the good work. Also if you can incorporate some intangibles on maybe showcasing why bluffing too much on small stakes is not worth it, that would be great

  • @nicholi2789

    @nicholi2789

    I used to do that. Anytime I won a buy in or more I racked up immediately. I stopped doing that. If I’m playing well and feeling locked in i stay. I think if you’re a winning player your focus should be on putting in good hours. Because you know that hours=EV.

    As I get older, my attention span decreases. I hardly ever play long sessions now, but when I do its because its an amazing game. There are good spots to bluff and I bluff more than most people think. At the lower limits, people payoff too much. No need to bluff calling stations, just value bet everything.

    Nice play all around Doug. On the KK hand where you called the 95 without raising, did you assume (like I did) at the time there were more A2, 67, A3, etc... than draws out there?

    Hooray for Zeus! I love his advice today. Lots of players struggle to identify good spots for caution; Zeus is teaching you to identify good spots for aggression. It's almost like he knows you better than anyone. 11:20 "I was betting top pair for value , I felt like I was out of line" "That doesn't sound too crazy. What was your hand?" "8-4 off." "Doug, you're a g-d lunatic." Stay wild, Doug, stay free.

    Your hand with the set of 4's. Your flop bet is too small. there's a diamond draw, straight draw and a queen there. Your small bet just bloats the pot for the people on draws and it doesn't cut off their pot odds. You're missing out on value for someone with a queen. You should be betting close to pot there. It doesn't change the outcome, but you're making it very easy for draws to get there on you and you're missing out on value for the other hands.
