I've got 07 d40 with blown head gasket or cracked head for cheap. also had oil pressure issue, turned out to be a screwed up O ring on oil pump cover when timing chain was last done. fitting new timing chains are a piece of cake, these awesome vids helped a lot. I've got a spare engine I'm rebuilding, looking forward to seeing how she runs with fresh donk.

i have an 06 outlaw. and i can tell you its bloody fab. on 188800 miles i had it for 3 years i keep it in such good nick. i service it every 6 months it don't cost much. never gone wrong for me. never failed an MOT auto gear box is soooooo smooth i can not even tell when it change. i warm up every time in the winter. the body work is spotles. i had people just come up to me in the street and ask if its for sale. If you look after it it will go on and on. nice smooth ride too. or maybe i just got lucky. 💪👍👍👍👍

Hi , we have a 2008 pathfinder diesel in Australia auto and use it to tow our 2.6 ton caravan . Brisbane to Melbourne a few times with ease . Bit slow on the hills . Re oil they like to use 10/40 but recently told the service guys to stick to 5/30 synthetic. Did notice the engine runs quieter and smoother , however hopefully it will be ok in summer. The trips are usually about 3500 Kim’s there and back with more local trips about 1800 round trip . Have 175000 Kim’s on the clock and service every 10000 klms. Very happy with the vehicle . Next one will be a mux as the n300 scares me with that motor .

Hi what would you recommend when lifting the Navara for 2 inches by using the levelling kits? Do I have to change the suspension? And other stuff beneath the truck? Or what things should I be aware of before lifting it for about 2inches? Thanks.

Hi, Ive got a 2006 D40 with 230,000km on the clock. I have recently replaced the radiator due to the return over flow hose snapping off and later causing the engine to over heat. After receiving the car back from the mechanic I have notice that the car is hard to start in the mornings. then I realised that the glow plug light on the dash is not coming on anymore and so I am assuming that the engine is not getting the correct start up. Can you please give me some advise.

Hi I've got a 08 navara auto and I'm having issue with it not engaging into 4th gear at revs above 3000rpm I can nurse it into the higher gears I've been advised it could be trans oil and filter problem anyone have an suggestions..

i beat the hell out of the navara. Just one thing in particular, without the addition of lift kits, get ready to scrape the undercarriage due to clearance issues. Not to condemn or patronize other major Japanese motor brands, its just what you would get, a beast of a performer, just clearance. (I'm from Borneo btw, off-road is just a daily thing)

yeh we gave our D22 a workout it towed a skid loader and trailer quite well, lasted 155000kms then i rebuilt the motor, then my brother bent the chassis big time bush bashing so now we have a toyota 80 series no sensors no computer lol , its just a weekend car for offroad camping etc.

I like the words a work out honestly truth is best if she earns you money through hard graft expect her to need some tender loving care not neglect cause she is out of warranty.

i have a nissan navara 2,5 2014 which i bought a few weeks ago but when i first drove it for a long drive started to smell oil in the cab ,I checked the oil and found out that it was over filled .I also found that the hose that leads to the air filter was oilly I then had it serviced but still after another long trip I can still smell oil in the cab, What can be the problem with the car. how best can this be solved. I suspect that the privous owners could have sold it with the problem

Marlo samsil, I own one for the past 3 years and I also live in Trinidad.. If you don't service these vans on time and give it the proper oils and filters you will run into heavy repairs. Mine just crossed 200000 and is functioning just as the day I bought it. The chassis rot I think has been pinpointed on the ones that are imported foreign used.... Local new/used do not suffer from that.

I have a D40 and my mechanic refuse to use proper torque settings for the head. It is now over heating due to loss of pressure. The The radiator and expansion tank bubbles. This is one cost that I felt I shouldn't be incurring. In future I will do the fixing myself.

Yep a competent mechanic always good start

Ive got a d22 duel cab, TD27 engine with 400,000km on the clock, only had to change the water pump( around 300,000km), that is all.

TD27 Now that was a stunning engine it was even in the cabstar but a 2.5 TD25 also in the D21 and in black old school taxi's the traditional taxi non turbo and ran for ever treat the engine and chassis she will be around for another 20 years.

Do you reckon I should rebuild the engine then add a turbo or? ive opened the oil cap with the engine is running and there is no blow by, indicates the rings are still good right? any information about turboing a td27 would be greatly appreciated. thank you

Hi the engine you have is bullet proof it was fitted in black London taxi's going back years ago in the old traditional black cab. you just need to to sort oil feed and oil return.

totally agree! i Think the d40 is the Most beautiful truck built. Think the d40 is nicer than the New np300. i drive a 2009 np300d22 är work. but its just a workhorse 😎 not so Nice to look at. (210 000km) orginal engine

The trouble we have found (sons have a D40 each) Is they are not that great of a vehicle from brand new Tall 1st Gear, Dual Mass Flywheel, Very narrow torque curve. Then add the things that constantly fail, ABS sensors (3 gone). In Australia, they are popular for one reason, because they are cheaper than a Toyota or Ford Ranger.

hey i have a 2008 nissan navara aventura hates cold mornings or evenings and when it does start it looses power and runs pretty much at idle briefly, would it pay to do the glow plugs and the crank sensor or could it be worse? thanks.

I have got a 2007 Nissan Pathfinder that is now Losing power going uphill and the the rpm would not go past 2000-2500 rpm, on flat roads and down hill all is fine, what could be the problem.

@@westyorkshireengineservice9160 okay and before that it never had a power climbing up hills even at 1st gear. Plus the oil in the radiator and alot of black smoke. What is the solution to the other problems?

Have a 2007 D40 with couple of issues.1st.now and again going uphill or on motorway when overtaking it will lose power doesn’t matter if to put pedal to floor.2nd cruise control won’t set light will come on for cruise but not for set function.any help would be great

Man I need to talk to you .my engine light is just nearly on if you look realy hard you can notice it..it was gutless I watch a Vidieo on you with another gutles nivarra and you just flogged it..first second third it took you a couple of days to rewrite the ecu? I think we'll I tried ..before I started my truck would not even sound like it would run with a turbo there was no noticeable change in revrs at all ..I did flogg it till there gear I held it there flat like you said not for twenty minutes more like 3 .I was scared .it made my truck in neural rev so much better .I could here the turbo kick in from about 3 to 4and a half flat ..but still gutless ..could it be carbon ..fuel pump ?? Injectors..

I've got o8 d 4o try this clean your MAF sensor air cleaner throttle body and check all your small turbo pipes for vacuum leaks 4mm ones. It's all easy and cheap U tube it. Check your pulley on àc unit for resistance if huge power loss with AC on I have got kit of large turbo pipes ordered because rubber ones factory expand and are rubbish check your EGR valve and exhaust sensor s. Do all the basics yourself one at a time then drive it between changes to check. Once you careful done that you should see improvement. Then find competent person to run engine scan to see what really is going on at least they shouldn't find list of basics faulty to rob U to replace. My backyard tune help me heaps and really isn't that hard to do
