We have this habit, promoted mostly through movies, of seeing the decades as separate time periods that stand on their own as if they have no connection. Like, Lesley in the cover image of Its My Pary from 1964 looks very 60s styled and here she is rocking the classic 1980s frizzy hair.. my point is, must have been fun to go through each decade like that, something only a 21 yearly old like myself can only dream about.

pvandck Yes... the "passive" smokers Cancer are the most common, at least in France... but it must be the same effects in addition to round, unfortunately...

Her signature song indeed....can you imagine how many times over the many years she toured, that she sang it...I imagine at times she got a bit tired of it, but then again she knew it was responsible for launching her into stardom, and had to have known how her long time fans looked forward to hearing her sing it at every concert, trying to retain a small piece of their youth....
RIP Lesley. I can't tell you how many times I've listened to your songs over the years. The whole world misses you.
The backround singers were Great too!!!
She seems like such a fun lady! No matter how many years go by her voice isn’t frayed in the least it’s still amazing

first song recorded and it was a huge hit, she’s been a staple in the pages of the oldies…..

G'day Lesly from Melbourne Australia 2023, I thank you for your wonderful contributions of music to us ,your music lovers . I'm so greatful to you sharing your music, 1963 is very special to you as to me, you produced your first hit song, my mother produced me as her eighth.
I was at that concert! The line-up was HUGE! Jerry Lee Lewis, The Everlys, Chuck Berry, Mary Wilson,,maybe others I don't recall. Lesly Gore just shone! She was superb! She really connected with the audience whereas most of the others didn't even bother to try. Thanks for posting this! Great times back then.

How brave of her to come back after so many decades! This song is an earmark of the age that I was just a baby in, but I remember going to teenage parties in the 70's and this song was still king!
Great Lesley Gore > It's my party R.I.P.

I have recently discovered her songs on youtube. My question is : Was Lesley a trained singer? Or was she just born that good?. Quincy jones found her when she was a school girl and what an amazing find!. She was on Batman episodes too. She already had singing lessons before she started working with Quincy Jones. Yeah....she's great! I was amazed at the power and maturity of her voice as a teenager. She excels at expression through gestures and facial expressions......beautiful smile that's infectious She comes across very confident and highly experienced. I was blown away when watching a youtube clip of her 1964 T.A.M.I vocal performances.
She was just so fabulous, truely a legand. God rest her soul. She is unforgetable.
She still sounds much like the young girl she was when she first released this song. Amazing.
