The pickups are like that because Steph think it looks cool. He doesn't give a fuck about things guitarist care about , he literally likes things because it looks cool.

thats what i love about him. apparently he saw it on someone elses guitar, went "that's cool", and used it on all his guitars. he never uses the middle, in fact if you look at his playthroughs, its clear that he also sunk the middle pick up so its not in the way. love that dude and his taste in guitars

The middle pickup is the pickup that sounds proper for cleans. Thats why its placed there. On cleans, the bridge is too twangy, and neck pickup (if it would be there) sounds too bassy and watery for cleans. The middle pickup is ideal for cleans if you can play it a certain way.

Ever since seeing Northlane, I always wanted to try one of these as an affordable alternative to a baritone 7 string tele, but your review confirmed what I thought about that middle pickup. The demo of just the middle would make a cool effect though in the middle of a song. Definitely would say to try the Tosin's because the 3 different voices are something else; definitely see your point in this review though. Thanks for posting!

BAAAACKBREAAAKERRRRRR Sever all the ties, sever all the lies BAAAACKBREAAAKERRRRRR Reach inside and see if I'm living 😹😹😹 I have a 608b and it’s heavy😿 Green sparkle- fucken glorious. Changing the pickguard- damn, my thoughts before you said that. Fishman fluence- active/passive on distorted not any difference, I think the feeling different, correct me if I’m wrong; passive on clean better. Overall tone- one of the best I’ve ever heard, buuut it’s more kemper5150 and horizon devices indian mansoor I think lol. If you’ve seen latest live’s of Emmure, you’ve noticed how Josh’s 7string esp cuts through a mix way better than 9string (fuck ninestring! 7 and 8 rulez!), so the guitar choice for fans of that genre is obvious.

I have tried it at the hellfest festival, along with the "sir headly" sh7 on a mesaboogie and a hugues & kettner , to my ears the Stephen Carpenter Fishman pickups were globally less precise (batterie ?)versus the fishman modern on the sh7 that were loud , precise and killer. But maybe with an good overdrive or a good amp tones like here it compensates that weakness. the guitar itself feel heavy but not too much ,very comfortable to play except the middle pickup position.

Aaron - you have to unsolder the pickup wire from the controls in the control cavity (or if you're lucky and the pickup has quick connects, just unclip it), then just unscrew the pickup from the guitar and gently pull the cable through from the control cavity. If you want the hole filled in as well, you'd have to take it to a skilled luthier.

@@Alex.Geurink IMPECCABLE fretwork on this model. I would say it rivals my early 2000's Gibson SG Special's fretwork and easily holds it's own against many core PRS Custom 24's I have tried. The frets are highly polished with the fret ends polished to a near mirror sheen, and there is no friction to speak of when bending notes anywhere on the fretboard. I have had great luck with the fretwork on all of the Ltd's I have owned and this one if by far the most detailed, comfortable and polished of the lot. But I would reasonably expect such quality from an instrument in this price range.

Can’t get the look and sound of this guitar out of my head. I’d be using it for similar sounding stuff to Deftones, Muse, Korn (maybe) - real dirty almost funk or groove metal sounding stuff. Funk/groove metal stuff sounds really cool. Do you play in a band or just come up with stuff for your own purposes? Personally my main instrument is drums and that's what I play in my band atm but I do like to come up with loads of riffs...usually metal inspired but sometimes more rock & funk leaning. Most of my riffs I save for later and just record a rough demo until I am in a position to produce my own instrumental songs...but before I can do that I need to learn more about DAWs/recording, drum & bass guitar programming, mixing etc. and most importantly, get my playing cleaner first, only been playing guitar for about a year, and a lot of the ideas I have are just on the limit or a bit over my ability. Sometimes the guitarist in my band will use one of my riffs if it fits our style (rock/prog stuff) but he usually likes to change it up and put his own twist on it. Regarding the LTD in the video, I think it looks absolutely bad-ass! Green isn't my first choice of colour for a guitar but looks great in that sparkle finish. And there is something about the way it sounds...it's just mean. I've watched quite a lot of Andrew's videos and anytime he uses a 7 string (which is quite a lot!) the LTD always seems to sound the best. He's got a new pickup in it for the more recent videos (I think the Seymour Duncan Blackout mentioned in this video) and it sounds great with that as well. The guitar itself just inherently sounds chunky!

Watched the solar review of yours as well as kiesel. I currently have a kiesel Vader 7 27" scale but I bought it second hand so it's not exactly what I'd build. I've owned an sc607b back when they were first released but I've never tried a solar. Out of the kiesel, ltd and solar which do you prefer and why? By the way, I tune in drop F and drop E so I'd be interested in the 8 string versions.

I know this is a 4 year old video. But can someone tell me what the cavity is like behind the pickguard? I want the guitar, but want to move the neck pup to the traditional neck location.

Been eyeing this guitar for a little bit now. Love the tele look. Would you recommend the baritone scale or is going multiscale worth it?

Did you have any problems with the pick ups having intermediate harmonic interference? with palm muting on the lower strings?

Dude, Andrew! Would you be able to get a joyo zombie(Mesa boogie-ish) and a joyo vivo (5150) mini heads? I have the zombie and love it but I cant find any good demos, I highly value your opinion and would like to see you use the joyo vivo with your justin Lowe 8 string and your custom 9 string. If you can can you use the precision drive with it as well?

Hey man! I am not really in a position where I can afford to buy gear for demos/reviews anymore since I am now self-employed haha. So it would really have to come down to the company sending me one, which is not necessarily in my control. Sorry man!

Thanks, subscribed to show my appreciation, have been wanting a 7 string tele, and other than the Michael Kelly models this is the only other that I know of. You made the review I was looking for, musicians friend did a demo, but they did not seem to know what it was made for! Also I have that chair! Mines red, I didn't put the arms on, guitar kinda sits on the side bolsters
