More than a mess, one of the movie industries first attempts at political defamation of their fanbase with intentional facets in it to directly insult the fanbase and accuse us of racism and sexism. And as you will be aware since around 2016 this attitude has bled into MANY popular franchises. Closely followed by star wars 7 in 2017.

Mckennas acting and her take on her character is brilliant, it's one of the shining attributes of both recent movies. Without her excitement of being part of the franchise it would just not be the same, it is felt through her character. Even if you were not a fan of the recent movies, you have to admit she was brilliant in her role.

My friend who loves ghostbusters said he was let down by this one mainly cause of all the cuts and jumpiness and might take a couple watches to actually like it. I dont think budget had anything to do with the cuts and stuff. Everything was filmed and just needed to be editted so it was probably just the editting team made odd choices with how they pieced it together. Even if budget played a role id think editors and the director should have found a way to make things work more smoothely or delete things that probably werent needed.

Loved every bit of it. Prior to it coming out I bought the TimeLife Firehouse Boxset Complete Series of The Real Ghostbusters and marathoned it in anticipation of this movie. The movie delivered. It was like a Live Action movie of The Real Ghostbusters which is what I’ve wanted for 30 years now. Being able to go to a movie in Ghostbuster suit with my fiancée and getting to eat popcorn from a light up Ghost Trap and drinks like “Slimer Sour Apple” and “Boo Berry Raspberry” from Mini Puft drink containers felt like being a kid again. The movie also felt like The Real Ghostbusters episodes Cold Cash and Hot Water (ice demon who wants to release ghosts from the containment unit for a ghost army) and the episode Killerwatt (as Ecto 1 gets possessed like in that episode.) There was a few moments like something from Extreme Ghostbusters or the Ghostbusters Comics. This movie is definitely a love letter to fans full of Easter eggs. It’s literally the most fun I’ve had at a movie in many years. The hateful comments seem like such brain dead takes things like “more of the same thing.” Um, you know what the word “sequel” means right? It’s literally meant to be more of the same thing. Or in 2016 it was “we wanted the Real Ghostbusters not a reboot” in Afterlife it was “we wanted more of The Original Ghostbusters who only showed up at the end.” Now in 2024 it’s “we want less of the Ghostbusters”…from a GHOSTBUSTERS movie. That’s like wanting less Pokémon in a Pokémon movie or less superheroes in Avengers. There are some people whom you can never please. I was pleased though, as was my fiancée. Can I tell you one more thing? Bustin makes me feel good.

Totally agree with you, this movie was a BLAST!...It delivered what me and others had been waiting for for so long...Ofcourse it was never going to surpass the original, that movie was a product of the 80s and lightning in a bottle that can never be recaptured...But this was a very fun and worthy sequel with great performances, specially from Mckenna, Rudd, Akroyd and Hudson, plus it added new gadgets, equipment, ghosts, new team members and a cool new villain that all expand the lore and franchise...It finally passed the torch in a proper way, introducing new bold ideas but also staying respectfull to what came before.

I love your character Phoebe Spengler, you were so awesome and still my favorite since you first appeared in Ghostbusters: Afterlife! I thought this movie was the best Ghostbusters movie. It had the most interesting story out of all the Ghostbusters movies to me which had both really some terrifying and very funny moments even great moments with you as Phoebe were pretty deep. Of course love Paul Rudd, Bill Murray, Ernie Hudson, Dan Aykroyd, Annie Potts, Carrie Coon, Finn Wolfhard, Logan Kim and Celeste O'Connor even the newcomers Kumail Nanjiani, Patton Oswalt, James Acaster and Emily Alyn Lind along with William Atherton returning as Walter Peck who hated the Ghostbusters in the very first movie and who always wanted to shut them down. Lol! I felt that the movie took some elements from the Real Ghostbusters and Extreme Ghostbusters cartoon series, Loved that! Let's not forget the Ghostbusters theme song by Ray Parker Jr never gets old. The audience I was with we all clapped and cheered. What created big expectation is that a first sequel was made; the GB were like born to fix the reason behind all the powerful manifestations. The third chapter was seen with multiple franchises of men and women, active around the world for the big final. But years have passed. "GB:2016" trolled the fans. "GB:Afterlife" then created great hope and "Frozen Empire" great expectation to see the story finally progress to a conclusion. But, hearing reviews, I think the concept is now simply entertainment. To understand fans: The first movie presents itself as a reflection of the real world under a broken spiritual balance; it goes biblical, spiritual, with a particular attention on causes. When young, it's the action and humor that captivates, the personalities, the positive ending. Old, you understand more how dark, heavy, the movie actualy is, while the spiritual aspect becomes important; it's the reason behind everything. The movie doesn't speak only about paranormal; it takes position against cults, hidden societies, what separates people; more obvious in "GB:Afterlife" through Ivo Shandor; It's also controversial for trapping spirits and not just "built entity" like Slimer, as it interrupts their spiritual evolution in the outerworld. The team is an expression of unity, of how far humanity could go when hand in hand; breaking up felt impossible in "Afterlife" for being like family; the beauty in the first two films is that good reunites people each time. Because the first movie was intelligent and for stating that everything has a reason, that the world was saved, a sequel created a question and great possibilities when the fashion is to make a trilogy; it increased the passion; half the fans wanted an ongoing series while others wanted a final centered on restoring the balance once and for all; it's not normal to have a "Ghostbusters department" in a city. The third movie wouldn't be about a cult but what affects the link between the two dimensions. Ghostbusters is part of those rare movies that have values and a special place in people's heart; for being as meaningful as what "StarWars" or "BackToTheFuture" was back then, fans hoped simply a final with the same quality. We're now old and feel that a pleasant movie is now just as important. And with what hollywood did in the last decades, there's not much to hope for.

It was fun. Just like she said, it's not going to win any oscars but that's cool. I wanted to be entertained and that's what it does

When she says fifth movie I would also include Ghostbusters the video game which is considered a third movie a criminally underrated video game.

Well said , it seems to be click bait now to hate on movies just to get views , I really enjoyed this , it's not perfect , a few pacing issues but I had a fun time with it.

It is SO WEIRD seeing 'Phoebe' with long blonde hair! lol I thought Frozen Empire was pretty good. Decent amount of comedy, interesting story, callbacks to the old movies while making room to move forward. I don't know what else I could have asked for from it.

This is exactly how I feel about such films as Madame Webb and Damsel. They are both fun & at the very least, decent films. I not saying these films are on these same level of bad, but I’m aware that Barbarian Queen, Plan 9 from Outer Space, Troll 2 are bad films, but they are bad films that I like and enjoy. So I know I can absolutely enjoy some of these recent films that have been releasing that critics and the people are giving bad scores.

Sadly.... the excitement of it actually being REAL will diminish when it's all finished and it falls into a fond memory. I hate doing something that I may never do again because it sometimes feels as though my memories aren't real....

Awesome that she completely ignores snd refuses to acknowledge that joke of a film with the cast of SNL in it. Never should have been made and does not count as part of the franchise.

Explain to me how she used a machine that puts a ghost in a temp chamber they can’t get out of before transferring it into a trap and when she uses it her ghost just walks through it. Also why didnt that girl die when she was the first one to try to stop the big bad and pissed it off causing her to be completely frozen?

Crazy to live in a world where people pick holes in anything now just to moan about! I've just got home from watching frozen empire....it was brilliant from start to finish, some great one liners, a fantastic cast, and a great sequel to afterlife! Harold Ramis & Ivan reitman would be proud. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Stuff what the critics say! I hope we get a 3rd film. 👍🎉😁

It was a DECENT movie. Started off fine, then got REALLY boring in the middle, then got great at the end. It is still a 7/10 for me but there was too much talking and not enough humor/action.

I saw some negative reviews of the film but that was never going to stop me from seeing it I’ve loved the franchise since I was a kid and apart for the 2016 abomination I have loved all the films. I went to the 1st showing of Frozen Empire Friday morning and loved it I would say if your interested in the film then don’t listen to the reviews go see it and form your own opinion
