I am always so embarrassed and scared when people ask me if I do cause I am not her age but I still and a bit “old” to sleep with them but seeing this made me realize more people than I thought sleep with them idk if it is just me but don’t you feel like safe around your parents and that nothing can hurt you when you are laying with them cause I do😂

Umm.. yeah. Sure. I’m way closer with my family than most ppl. But there’s a difference between spending time with them, while I’m conscious and it actually matters, and sleepin with them bc I have the mind and fears of a 4 yr old… very strange. Also, prolly not healthy, mentally speaking, to continue to b this frightened of basic things or rely on ur parents to this degree at this age bc, eventually, ur gonna hafta take care of urself. This just isn’t the type of thing u do to “spend time with ur parents.” Ur sleeping. So ur not really “spending time” with them anyway. It’s not really even the sleeping with her parents that I find so strange tbh. It’s the whole “I run to my parents room n the middle of the night bc there’s a monster under my bed,” type vibe that’s makin this odd.

Well there's nothing wrong with that. The forethought is how you're going to survive without your parents there. You need to be brave yourself and overcome your own anxieties, because no matter what your parents can do for you they're not omnipresent and cannot solve your own problems as well as you can.

My parents taught me to sleep with doors closed for safety in case of fire or a break in. But I also prefer doors closed out of the subconscious fear I might see someone from the corner of my eye standing there and staring at me.

I had the opposite, I couldn't sleep with the door closed since that would leave the room in complete darkness and that scared me too much. It was always open door, and either the hallway or the bathroom light on just so it wasn't completely dark on my room. If there wasn't a bit of light entering the room I just couldn't sleep. Nowadays I feel more secure sleeping with the door closed.

Man the open door is the most terrifying thing at 3AM . . 😂

I had no problem sleeping with my door open until my late 20's when I would regularly see something in the doorway when I woke up for 5-10 seconds until it would fade away. Ever since then door is always closed and locked.

I have always had similar fears, especially the open doors. Sleeping with an open door is a valid fear. Besides the spookiness of it; it’s also a fire safety step. willingness to do this should be instilled in our children. A closed door may slow the spread of smoke, heat, and fire if a house fire were to occur. With the proper placement of fire detection; a closed door could also give you more than enough time to exit safely before fire spreads.

I'm also afriad of needles. I have been ever since i got my ears pierced when i was 8 or 9(im 15 now). I went to a jewlery place and i had 2 people (one on each side) and they did it at the same time. All i remember is looking into the mirror and then dropping the mirror and kinda going into a seizure a little bit. Ever since then, when i need to get a shot, i always cry and like freeze up. Theres been a few times when i get close to passing out. But last time i got a shot(like last month) i finally got to the point where i dotn cry anymore. I still get scared and i know that will eventually go away but i was able to actually get through it and not cry or freeze up or pass out
